Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?

Posted on 11/07/2008 12:05:16 AM PST by Cringing Negativism Network

It pains me, as one who once supported Mitt Romney so much as to even contribute to his campaign, but watching his flunkies ATTACK Sarah Palin, I am filled with anger and contempt.

Heck no. Mac’s camp are the ones who leaked the wardrobe story and also the towell story...all kinds of smears.

I would not credit Mitt for Mac’s camp’s slimeballing

What the hell???

Quit attacking Romney. He has been more supportive of the ticket than any other candidate by miles.

If anything, Romney should be commended for his actions this year. Had more Republicans and Conservatives dediated themselves as much to the cause we would be enjoying a landslide right now.

"Look, I was an Independent during the time of Reagan/Bush.
I am not trying to return to Reagan/Bush."

(Mitt Romney, 1994 Senate Debate, Boston, MA, 10/25/94)

"I wasn't a Ronald Reagan conservative."
(Mitt Romney In Interview with Marc Ambinder,
"Romney Explains Himself," National Journal, 2/9/07)

"I'm very clear I think, to the people across the Commonwealth -
my "R" didn't stand so much for Republican as it does for reform.
"
(Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)

"I'm not running as the Republican view or a continuation of Republican values.
That's not what brings me to the race.
"
(Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)

Myth Romney: "You will embrace this attack on Gov. Palin
and her little children using Jindal's, McCain's and Huckabee's names
like our attacks on McCain and Thompson using Huckabee's name.
Support it, from our lands and sanctuary mansion in
the north using the fake law enforcement badges we fabricated.
I will gain GOP favor by condemning it and
ordering it opposed from our lands in the south, in the Hive, and with Fox News and the MSM. Whichever way
the tide runs, we will rise."

Puhleeze -- your Romney quotes are so out of context it's insulting.

The "not trying to return to Reagan/Bush" was in direct response to a debate question which asked if his proposed budget with lower taxes would result in big deficits like occurred under President Reagan.

Can you please toss your hatred of Romney.... especially in light of the drubbing of McCain....

Whatever your feelings about Romney, at least he is articulate and proud to be a Republican and promotes the conservative philosophy in a way which makes sense.

No offense, but it was people like yourself who rejected a good candidate (not saying Romney is the perfect conservative) all for the sake of some dogma which ultimately ends up driving good people out of the GOP.

Heck, if you can accept John McCain who never met a Democratic liberal idea he didn't like, then it makes absolutely no sense on why you can't accept Mitt Romney.

What do YOU mean by the word “accept”?

Accept that Romney is a liar?
a backstabber?
a shapeshifter?
a liberal socialist?
a Marxist enforcing HillaryCARE=RomneyCARE?

To your question "IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?", the answer is a resounding "no". McCain and his idiot staff bear the sole responsibility for that fiasco.

That said, Romney certainly stands to profit from this, and his minions made sure to tarnish Palin's image pre-election because she's clearly his biggest threat for the 2012 nomination. It would not be a stretch to say that this savaging of Palin's character and capability encouraged the "Palin as scapegoat" reaction from the McCain team after defeat, but whether or not this was an intended outcome or just a bonus for Romney is debatable.

Like..... can you "accept" a call from your therapist before the thought of Mitt Romney drives you over the edge?

When will Romney or you accept that Romney owes some people (some living, some dead) HIS apology.

Do you accept that? Does he?

MORAL: Myth Romney let the GOP slide, and innocents had to die.

National Guard Lt. Anthony Circosta poses in his backyard in Agawam, Mass., on June 9, 2007.
At left, his wife Danielle and daughter Kylie, 2, talk near the swing set. Circosta,
a decorated Iraq War veteran, seemed like an ideal candidate for a pardon from
then-Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for the 29-year-old's boyhood conviction
for a BB gun shooting. Romney denied the pardon,
twice, despite the recommendation of the governor's council.

No, the Republican a-holes who voted for McCain in the primaries are responsible.

All the early GOP turncouts seem to be “Mittens”.

Name some names, please. And while you're at it, cite some evidence that Romney has some control over what this person says.

But even now, Mitt’s people are going after Palin right here on this board.

The 2012 primary season is already begun. It is perfectly reasonable and legitimate, now that the election is over, to ask fair questions about Palin's qualifications to be president.

I agree that the smears about her not knowing the NAFTA trading partners or that Africa is a country are out of bounds. But what evidence do you have that people working for Romney are behind them?

to the GOP, to Conservatives, and to America.

What ever alleged support Romney had on FR (12%) vanished
as Mitt, his BOTs, man-servants, their wives, attacked Gov. Palin and her children.

curiosity worked directly on Romney's Campaign

Nope. I never worked for them, nor did I ever receive a dime from them.

All I ever did for Romney was donate money to his campaign, up to the legal limit.

I did participate in demonstrations and other activities against gay marriage in massachusetts in 2004 and 2005 while I was a graduate student at MIT, and Romney addressed crowd I was in once.

That about sums up my connections to the Romney.

Someone in most of the Depts., like VI or VIII, at MIT
would be too smart to fall for likes of WIllard Romney.

So let me guess, XIV or XV?

Congratulations. You looked at my profile and then searched the MIT website to figure out the course numbers for the economics department and the Sloan School. Very good.

FYI, my Ph.D. is in Finance from the Sloan School.

Some ignorant people like you think we Finance Ph.D.'s are dumber than comp sci and physics Ph.D.'s. That's okay. The fact that we make about 2-3 times the more than those guys more than makes up for it.

BTW, no one who actually went to MIT would ever refer to the physics department as Department VIII. If you want to use numbers, it's COURSE 8.

And FYI, the people on campus who fancy themselves the smartest aren't the course 6 or 8 people, it's the course 18 people.

That may not be Mitt.

A lot of the abuse is from McCain staffers who messed things up and want to cover their tracks.

Some of it is from imposters like "Martin Eisenstadt."

Despite your false claim, my post NEVER said, "Dept VIII".
Did it?

You made it up, and attacked, just like you do for Romney, your Master.
How like your BS regarding Romney.

Do you make up stuff in XIV and XV, too?

Is that how you make "2-3 times the (sic) more"?

And do you just fear integral equation, too, as well
as you appear to always fear the truth?

It seems that you are misnamed, and have no curiosity at all, for here
you are disingenuous, and so full of ad hominem, too.

I think those "on campus" would probably infer that you fancy yourself the "smartest",
even though there, you are more than a few diplomas short of a full hand.

Whatever, dude. I've wasted waaaay too much time on you.

At any rate, I'm pretty confident you've been exposed as the irrational, bigoted demagogue that you are.

I have work to do. Publish or perish, you know.

Have a nice life.

When you don’t have the facts, you keep up the ad hominems.

Pretty lame behavior for anyone of substance at the ‘Tute,
but then you back Romney without foundation, as you insult
FReepers, so it is clear that judgment was never your ‘thing’.
