The View's conservative cutie Elizabeth Hasselbeck stunned viewers today by throwing her support behind president-elect Barack Obama. Executive Producer Barbara Walters asked Hasselbeck, who campaigned with John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin, how she felt after seeing McCain/Palin go down to defeat on election night.

No, that is why we defend the Constitution.
Because it provides for one president of we the people.
The size of his victory suggests he was elected, not selected. For better or for worse.
We may be loyal opposition but we are loyal and will not destroy the insritutions of thise nation to discredit a president or party we don’t like.
Unlike the backstabbing traitors on the left.
Which is why a GOP spokesfigure “supporting” the President of another party makes headlines by a clueless media.
I have already sent an Obama supporter the piece today on how he has not paid his campaign workers. he told me not to be bitter and to support my new president. i said i will be every bit as supportive and loving as the kerry/gore supporters have been for the past 8 years. Where is my PIE, it’s Obama’s fault is my new mantra.
Her attacks (or go along attacks with the rest of her VIEW program) on Limbaugh were pathetic.....as if she has even 1/100th of the intellect of Rush....
Over and over again the MSM plant stooge types to "be the Republican"...Hasselback is no different...
One thing to look forward to is that Conservatives are NOT going to act like the haters the Liberals have been for the last eight years. The I hate Bush support groups, threats to move to foreign countries (which unfortunately were not honored), and the constant caterwauling was painful for anyone who loves this country. I have a friend with one of her relatives on a suicide watch after the last election.Reflexive anti-Bush hatred was not an effective form of opposition at all .
The early Christians considered Nero an/the anti-Christ, so clearly there are exceptions. They certainly didn’t follow his direction not to worship as they saw fit.
Also, was Hitler a governing authority to whom one must submit? Of course not.
I hope for the failure of Obama to enact his evil plans.

That's what I thought for years.
It appears I was incorrect.
codercpc - I agree with you. I’m center-right and while disappointed, I respect the office.
Having said that, I have no desire nor intention of supporting Obama. (Unless, of course, he should surprise me by actually proposing something good. But that is very unlikely.)
ding ding ding!
Lets be better than the left was..
I will oppose things I disagree with, I did it when Bush was the president and I will do it (far more often) now that Obama is president. Lets not turn into DU over this lets not start hating to the core our nation because 53% of the people made a rather foolish choice and lets not crap on the office of the president just because we don’t like who is in there.
When Clinton was elected in 1992 conservatives attacked ideas, policies, and to a much lesser degree the man but *never* the office! Lets face it in 2012 there is a dang good chance a conservative may sit in that office so lets not throw crap at it today.
Exactly. A friend of mine told me yesterday that what we Christians must now do is pray for his salvation.
Thanks for the picture. To all, please note the words on the podium.
“Elizabeth just got her $1 mil. check in the mail from the 0bama campaign.”
How dare you?
Elizabeth Hasselback was on the road for days with Gov. Palin. And she wasn’t being paid for that any more than she’s being paid by Obama to support him as president-elect. To cast Hasselback’s support for the president-elect after his winning the election as something she’d been paid off for is slanderous and ill-informed.
Like it or not, Obama won the election and is President-elect. Americans are supposed to support the winner, no matter how strongly they campaigned for the losing side.
Are we supposed to hope he doesn’t succeed and let the country go down the toilet just to prove our point? Are we at the same level as the Democrats? No, we are to keep his feet to the fire so he governs for the entire country. If he doesn’t, we build up a ‘loyal opposition’ in the ‘10 elections, just as we did in ‘94.
We don't have to hope. It's just like gravity. That's why the next four years are going to be pure comedy noir. (no pun intended.)
Well, instead of bashing and slandering the people who supported McCain and/or Palin, we might just look to keeping Obama’s feet to the fire.
The expectations from the left for Obama are enormous and will be matched by pressure from the Dems in Congress. For two years they will have carte blanche.
At this point, we are better served by keeping them mindful that we are capable of another ‘94 (IF we can find a leader) than by trashing our own, as has dominated these threads for the past 24 hours.
I don’t consider ruining the country to be succeeding. If he was to cut spending then hey, my hat would be tipped for him.
Unlike the dems, who did what they could to slander President Bush, and did everything they could to sabotage his policies, hoping to see him, and the United States fail, I simply won't do it.
I'm going to work to make things better in the US, fighting his policies, but not trying to take down the country just to see him fail.
