Obama got where he is by playing it cool, Saul Alinsky-style (look him up on wikipedia) . Never showed his true thoughts on anything and always wore a tie. Speak moderately and don't frighten the squares. Will he suddenly go openly commie or will he keep up what has worked so far, moving slowly? A few judges here, a few redistrictings there, over there a slowly asphyxiated industry or two. Just little enough to not rouse the slumbering masses until it's too late for them to get his hands off the levers of power.
I'm afraid that it'll be like the storied frog that sat in the water and never noticed the temperature rise to boiling. If he tore off his mask immediately, he'd be finished and 2010 would see the end of his effectiveness.
I think he or his handlers are way too smart for that. In fact, he may at first even seem a moderate influence compared to obvious loonies like Nancy Pelosi or Jim Moran.

No he will go slow, he said last night it would take longer than his first term to get what he wanted done. He will wait until his second term, he governs as a moderate his first term, throws a few bones to Republicans and few things to the mad libs, but second term, he goes wild with his commie agenda!
Depends whether he was using Wright and Ayers or really is a Marxist. If he was using them, I think he will be a President Present and do nothing, then when the 4 years are up, he will go on the speech circuit and make lots of money.
My guess is that he will go for the "fast" option.
As Senator Biden said, it's likely that our enemies are going to quickly challenge the callow Kenyan Clown.
He probably will flake out almost immediately on the international front, and will flail around domestically, attempting to institute as much socialism as he can convince Nancy Pelosi to provide.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a few retreads, such as a Hillary-style "Commission on National Health Service" very early on.
I think we need to start working on the conservative agenda.
1. HEALTHCARE, why can’t we cross state lines for health insurance.
2. Voter fraud, sorry but one person one vote is not a class issue. One state per voters.
3. Social issues matter.
4. Cultivate REAL conservatives in our LOCAL races. Commissions, school boards, mayors and STATE bodies.
5. Get ready for REDISTRICTING! The census is in 2010. The rules for enumeration will be set by pelosi and reid.
6. EDUCATION EDUCATION EDUCATION. Conservative principles start and finish with EDUCATING people. If we want to win elections we have to teach the principles and concepts that founded this nation. Little lessons yield big decisions.
Two procedural things to look for:
1) On the first day of the new Senate, rules will be adopted abolishing the filibuster or at least lowering cloture to 55 in order to render 43 or 44 Republicans irrelevant (...just like 1975 when cloture was lowered from 67 to 60 in order to render 38 Republicans irrelevant after the higher figure had been used to protect 35 Dixiecrats for decades. Coincidentally, it was a Speaker named Reed who eliminated the filibuster in 1886 in the House of Representatives.)
You know them well. Yes, that’s exactly how the Marxists operate; they use the system to change the system so that it ceases to be democratic and soon doesn’t work any more.
Obama’s first order of business will be to get to work on his re-election in 2012. ‘Never his mind on where he was, what he was doing.’ In every ‘job’ he’s had, he’s spent the entire time preparing for his NEXT job. I think he’s scared witless. Campaigning is all he knows how to do.

He’ll be fiscally conservative, surprising everyone, and therefore destroy any chances that the cooling embers of republican conservatism with catch flame.
He’ll cut back in iraq and the tens of billions being spent there but not to the extent that a bloodbath will occur.
He’ll truly go after bin Laden, again surprising everyone, even to the point of boots on the ground in Pakistan. He has the moral authority - Nixon in China - to demand access from Pakistan.
Pelosi and Reid will soon learn they are his butt boys, not the other way around. Our retirement accounts will not be seized and cap gains will not be increased. But the rich will get higher taxes.
He’ll continue the nationalization of healthcare that Bush started - sorry but when Bush did prescription drugs the horse was out of the barn - and will take McCain’s idea of taxing bennies to eliminate the tax bias of healthcare only for the employed. Again, no conservative will be able to campaign against that.
He’ll drill for oil close offhshore, again seizing the republican idea.
He’ll nominate center-left judges. Sucks.
He’s already a full-bore communist, but behind the scenes.
