So....
It's pretty much over, our candidate has conceded.
He was outspent by a candidate who received vast contributions from unions and other special interests.
So, all you people who *insisted* on supporting our enemies in the UAW in the name of some misguided concept of "save American industry" -
I hope you're happy. Enjoy the president that YOUR dollars helped elect!
While America has been sleeping, your culture has eroded into that of a third world nation. Symbolism over substance, fashion over dignity and profits over principle are the virtues of the masses. Why shouldn’t we have BO for president?
ALL POLITICS ARE LOCAL. If you did nothing for your candidate where you live, work and pray; then you got what you deserve.
Just this evening I found my silver lining while walking the beach in Naples, FL.
The majesty of the mighty ocean and the splendor of the glorious sunset told me that the creator of the universe has seen civilizations great and small come and go. Yet the tide continues to go in an out and the sun rises and sets in spite of us.
You are blessed to live in what is left of America. After all, tomorrow is another day.
Maybe now the complacent couch potatoes of America will put down the remote control and the Doritos and get active in their school boards, political parties, communities and city councils.
Have you ever written to your so called “representatives”? Have you ever stood in the street with a protest sign, even if you were the only one there? I have and I never feel more American when I am doing so.
The left has been quietly ruling this country right under your nose for decades. Your happiness and hope in the future will depend on whether you are part of the problem or part of the solution.
Now is not the time for embarrassed patriots. We have only begun to fight!
Keep in mind that if you do what you did, you’ll get what you got.
Tonight, for the first time in her history, America embraced and anointed as a leader a feckless, narcissistic coward in favor of a legendary hero. I can assure you the shallow and vulgar celebrations of the democrat party will be fleeting. The day of America’s reckoning is at hand.
The tragedy of the election of 2008 is that it will have been the youth of America which has been conditioned to be loyal to the state who voted for their own servitude. They simply do not have the experience nor discernment to see what is the oldest and most despicable of political lies and destroyer of nations; the notion that the so called, “government” can give us anything that will increase our happiness.
I share in your heartfelt sorrow for today. Tomorrow, I resume my fight for the right.

The highest glory of the American Revolution was this:
it connected, in one indissoluble bond, the principles of
civil government with the principles of Christianity.
-John Quincy Adams
To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest
glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian.
-George Washington
Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure,
when we have removed their only firm basis,
a conviction in the minds of the people that they
are a gift of God? Indeed, I tremble for my countrymen,
when I reflect that God is just, that His justice
cannot sleep forever.
-Thomas Jefferson
The foundations of our society and our government rest so much
on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support
them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically
universalin our country.
-Calvin Coolidge
We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation
has ever grown. But we have forgotten God and we have vainly
imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these
blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of
our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too
self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving
grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!
It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves to confess our national sins,
and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.
-Abraham Lincoln
It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often
that this great nation was founded not by
religionists [pluralism], but by Christians;
not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ!
-Patrick Henry
Religion is the only solid basis of good morals; therefore education
should teach the precepts of religion, and the duties of man towards God.
-Governeur Morris Pennsylvania delegate
to the Constitutional Convention
But all of us—at home, at war, wherever
we may be—are within the reach of Gods
love and power. We all can pray. We all
should pray. We should ask the fulfillment
of Gods will. We should ask for courage,
wisdom, for the quietness of soul which
comes alone to them who place their lives
in His hands.

“I am The One” Barrack Obama
“We are in deep trouble.” LiveFreepOrDie
Obama spent $600,000,000. The most any candidate has ever had. A lot was illegal donations. And you think the UAW gave him all that?!
Btw, I don't like unions. Your post sounds like a personal thing.
They didn’t have much choice after New Hampshire. But hopefully this will end Republican support for campaign finance “reform” once and for all, particularly for those who view it as a way to keep a permanent majority.
I don’t mean to be cruel, but I’m laughing right now at the hand-wringing I’m seeing here on FR. The average voter is an ignoramus, you say? Well, there’s a news flash! PROTIP: the Founders restricted the franchise to rich white men for very good reasons. But no, we were so much smarter than they were. Everybody gets to vote now even the kiddies.
And yet we cry when they vote for the loudest carnie barker on the midway.
Well, save your tears. I have been arguing against representative government here on FR for the better part of a decade now, and I have always been shouted down. “I trust the American people!” the critics say. “God won’t let them vote the country into the toilet!” Well, please don’t squeeze the Charmin, friends, but the Ti-D-Bol Man is off the port bow.
Giving the average moron a vote is like giving a chimpanzee an Uzi. History demonstrates this over and over. Yet we act surprised when Bongo shoots up the joint? Madness.
So cry if you must, but don’t believe for a minute that I’m crying along with you. Nope, I’m laughing my ass off at the election, the system, and the pathos of no-more-kings “conservatives” who are finding out the hard way that a government that derives its powers from the will of the governed is a tyrant worse than the worst king that ever lived.
The left has battled for 40 years to reach this position.
They control the media.
They control the government.
They control the education system.
They will be ruthless in using the government to root out and destroy their enemies.
You can bet they will force more of us into Unions-its that or lose your job in many cases. Despite the fact that Unions have destroyed Michigan and Ohio.
Have not doubt this is war. The left and its Unions have done much to destroy this country-and damage its economy.
This is our fight. We must win. Individual freedom must win.
Er, so, what...your solution is to take voting rights away from non-whites and women?
How about we concentrate on practical solutions to regaining a GOP majority, rather than fanciful ignorance?
How old are you, 20? I hate to burst your bubble but the left has been here before and we’ve survived. It only seems like the end of the world now but if we can survive Carter we can survive anything. The sad thing is we have nobody to blame for this but the people we put our faith, time and money into: the Republican Party. They had it all and squandered it in spectacular fashion. Whever would have thought they could lose their majorities in the Senate and the House by making the other party look fiscally responsible? I only hope my children can forgive me for what we’ve done to them.
Not until it is too late.
Nah. They’ve been telling us to ignore the conduct and behavior of the UAW and that they were proud to own those cars.
Me, I don’t have that problem.
