We cannot continue to nominate intellectual and ideological lightweights............."
you throw insults like a little boy. grow up!
Now is not the time for trashing each other, rather, we should take stock and begin planning for 2010 and 2012.
This election was won on emotion. It’s going to be a lot harder for him next time.
Palin will be perfect.

My standard zot post.
Sung to the tune of Oh! Susanna, dont you cry for me. .... Oh, no Bama, please dont lie to me... for Im off to Free Republic with a laptop on my knee.
I come from Minnesota with my laptop on my knee; | Im goin to Free Republic my true love for to see. | It rained all night the day you left, | the weather it was dry; | The sun so hot you froze to death, | Obama dont you lie. | | Oh! No Bama, dont you lie to me; | I come from Minnesota, with my laptop on my knee.
I had a dream the other night, | When everything was still; | I thought I saw Obama dear, | A-coming for The Hill. | The smearing lie was in Duluth, | The croc tear in his eye, | Said I, Im coming for the truth | Obama dont you lie. | | Oh! No Bama, dont you lie to me; | Im off to Free Republic, | with my laptop on my knee.
I fight in my pajamas, | Its plain for all to see. | I aim to be the next Buckhead; | The media all hate me. | I fell in love with Sarah | When my sister bit a moose. | The Guvnors family ate it up | And then they set it loose. | | Oh! No Bama, dont you lie to me; | Im off to Free Republic, | with my laptop on my knee.
She loves her sons, she likes her guns, | and Triggernometry. | The media will jump the shark | When Juan makes history. | Well, JimRob knows shell pave the trolls | So controversially, | And Berg will knock Obama down | With friends of Hillary. | | Oh! No Bama, dont you lie to me; | Im off to Free Republic with a laptop on my knee.
I soon will be in Hawaii, | And then Ill look all round, | And when I find his birth record, | Ill fall upon the ground. | But if I do not find it, | This Freeperll surely die, | And when Im dead and buried, | Obama dont you lie. | | Oh! No Bama, dont you cry for me; | Im off to Free Republic with a laptop on my knee.

My FRiend, as always, your insight is on target.
This my seem odd but did anyone else think in her interviews prior to being picked she seemed more informative? I really still hate they way they handled her. I can’t wait to see a few interviews with her no longer as McCains running mate.
Excellent post. Thank you.
Never surrender. Sarah 2012.
Governor Palin is the only reason Juan McStain even had a chance.
Palin helped with the base, but I think she was successfully Dan Quayle’d. 0bama was just as inexperienced, but it only stuck to her. Picking her took experience off the table for McCain. Perhaps there was no one out there who would both excite the conservative base and meet the experience bar. That in itself is a sad realization for the GOP.
And dont forget amnesty for illegals.
In this election is to be lost political scientists will conclude that it was lost by George Bush. It was lost more than two years ago. It was lost when Bush ceased defending his own administration. It was lost when Karl Rove went to George Bush and said, in effect, "we have got to defend ourselves against these libels of that ' Bush lied and people died'". According to Carl Rove, Bush declined to engage in the debate conceding the ground to the Democrats saying that his administration had other more important issues to concern itself with.
The election was lost when the ground game that was so well fashioned by Karl Rove in places like Ohio was allowed to atrophy. The election was also lost years ago when Bush abandoned conservative principles and lived up to his promise to be a "compassionate" conservative who abandoned Reagan economics on the spending side and failed utterly to discipline the party, especially House and Senate spendthrifts. This election was lost when Bush, out of a misguided sense of bipartisanship, and pandered after and toadied up to Democrats such as Teddy Kennedy which undercut the moral standing of the conservative position. When he did it with Bill Clinton, in effect said that the entire Republican establishment which favored his impeachment was unseemly and excessively partisan. He conceded the idea that conservatism was somehow politically incorrect.
There is much to support in the administration of George Bush the pity is that he himself did not support it. Nor has he supported the Republican party in the nuts and bolts work that must be done if we were not to find ourselves outgunned in the ground war. Bush was the titular head of the Republican Party until the selection of McCain and as such he was responsible to the party which had supported him and financed him to reciprocate that loyalty. He failed to do so.
We also see the advantage to a party which comes out of a season of bitterness. The Democrats managed to convince their rank and file that the 2000 and perhaps even the 2004 elections were stolen from them. It managed to convince the party that a war which the establishment of the Democrat party supported, was foisted on them by an illegitimate president who concealed evidence from them. These lies and so many others were confronted only by the likes of Scott McClellan on behalf of the administration. It is ironic justice that Scott McClellan has recently endorsed Obama. In an adverse media environment it was virtually inevitable that these lies would leach out away from the Democrat party base and find general acceptance among the undecideds and the uncommitteds who decide elections.
We will not have had a conservative administration with the courage of its convictions to defend itself. There will have been no experiment in conservatism and there will have been no true governance of conservatism since the Reagan administration.
After this election, Republicans will not have the advantage of that kind of bitterness which has so motivated the Democrats. We will not have had eight years of a conservative administration to put before the voters for ratification. We will not have had an authentic conservative as a candidate for president to give the voters that kind of choice. We will not have waged an aggressive campaign to expose the radicalism of Obama. In short, conservatives will feel not bitter but presumed upon and ignored.
We will simply feel empty.
If it wasn’t for Sarah, the blowout of McCain would have been far worse. She had to stay within the framework of McCain’s policies. It was pretty obvious that she is the only TRUE maverick that was on the ticket. McCain is a “go along to get along” type of guy.
It is time for Gov Palin to go back to Alaska and finish her term. There are still Sunday morning news shows where she can remain visible as a “voice” of Conservatives. This will keep her in the public eye and allow the rest of the country an opportunity to see who she really is.
I predict, much like Joe Biden, that “That One” WILL be tested by a crisis in fairly short order. HE WILL SHOW INDECISION and FAIL. People will wish the steady hand of Bush was back in the White House and buyers remorse will set in with a vengeance. “That One” didn’t win the election, he bought it.
Now it’s time to work for the mid-term election cycle to place CONSERVATIVES in Washington. It’s time for RINO’s to be sent packing. It is up to us to make sure the Republican leadership does it’s job or be replaced.
Palin 2012
