Beautiful post. He sounds like he was a wonderful companion, so sorry for your loss. OB & LSA
Sorry for your loss. Looks like he was a nice cat.
(I have a couple of them pushing 15 years old now)
It is much harder to watch them go slowly, as opposed to having it happen with no notice.
Been there....and understand. What a beautiful cat.
Frank, I’m so sorry to hear your sad news & share your hope.
Here’s a belly rub for both Floyd and Leo.
I’m so sorry he had to leave you, for now.
If his demise was really similar to Floyd’s please make sure there isn’t something they could have both gotten poisoned by. Tiny amounts of organophosphates found in certain pesticides (e.g. ant/roach killers) can kill a cat, as can lilies. Per one account I read, a cat can even be fatally poisoned by walking on some pollen on a floor or table, that dropped from lilies in a vase carefully placed out of kitty’s reach, and then licking its paws. Vet told me the same scenario is possible with organophosphate-containing pesticides.
Thanks for sharing! Sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear of your loss. He sounds like a great cat and friend.
Leo looked handsome. Condolences on your loss. ((((Hugs))))
Lost a 15-year-old female cat rescue I was going to take home last week. Had to be put down because of cancer. She was a sweetheart. Her name was Mildred.
=^..^= =^..^=
Second cat loss for me in over a month, after Pumpkin’s passing.
My husband and I are so sorry you lost him. We grieve with you.

Feline aids may be rampant in the feral cat population in your area. Ask your vet about it the next time you take in a feral cat. The nicest Siamese cat I ever knew died from it.
Eloquently written and you have honored Leo’s memory..... so sorry for your loss
I am so sorry to hear about Leo. Our pets give us so much pleasure and then so much pain when they die. He died in the same manner as my last (and final) cat, Motorola. She kept going to the same corner and staring at the wall, in a few days she died. My brother is a vet and he says that most animals die from kidney failure. Keeping their teeth clean is something that can be done to keep this from happening. RIP Leo.
Sorry to hear that, Frank.
I’m so very sorry. Blessings to you, Floyd and little Leo.
Frank,
I am so sorry for your loss. I had this sent to me when I lost a beloved pet and I it helps ease your pain.
“I’ll lend you, for a while, a cat of mine,” He said.
“For you to love while he lives, and mourn when he is dead.
It may be six or seven years, or maybe twenty-three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He’ll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief,
You’ll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, as all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this cat to learn.
I’ve looked the whole world over in my search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lanes, I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love—not think this labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call, to take him back again?”
I fancied that I heard them say, “Dear Lord, thy will be done.
For all the joy this cat shall bring, the risk of grief we’ll run.
We’ll shower him with tenderness and love while we may,
And for the happiness we’ve known, forever grateful stay.
And should the angels call for him much sooner than we planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.”
Perhaps an impromptu haiku is in order, in honor of Leo. RIP, dear kitty.
