I just joined Barack Obama's campaign for president. Cost me five dollars, the minimum donation, to check on the stories I'd heard about how his credit card processing system is set to verify only the card number and expiration date, so I chipped in with a fake name and address. After they'd processed my donation, they kicked me over to a pre-loaded "Hey, friendo, I just joined Obama's Great Leap Forward" e-mail form, so I modified it some and spread the word.
Like Betty Crocker, 'Bammy's money-funnel was smooth and easy. I'd read about Osama Bin Laden, "Adolphe" Hitler, and many other notables donating, so I signed up as ObamaWill RaiseTaxesMcCainWon't, with my occupation/employer listed as Checking On/Obama's Greed. The Acorn-fueled Chicago community activist swallowed my money without straining at all. If he's taking money from Hitler and Osama, Mr. ObamaWill RaiseTaxesMcCainWon't oughta be allowed to help move the cause forward, too, hayna? Or no? I mean, I'd been worrying about how the Obamistas, if elected, are planning to restrict my personal freedoms, but at least I'm sure they'll not overburden my political donations to Democrats with more needless, picayune, online financial security verifications. Gives me a faint glimmer of hope for our country's future that someone this dirty and so heavily preferred by the print and broadcast media is only a few percent ahead of McCain in most polls.

Anyone who does this only donate 2 cents. Make sure to watch your card because Obama’s goons will probably charge it a few more times.

Did you try this with McCain’s site too? Yesterday on another board someone was claiming that they had donated in the name of Mickey Mouse to McCain and their donation was accepted. If you check this out could you please post what happens to this thread.

RE: McCain's site too?
"The (Obama) campaigns records reveal big contributors with names like Doodad Pro (employer: Loving, profession: You") and Good Will (same employer and profession). Both donated via credit card. Other reports have suggested that some donations come from overseas - raising the question of whether Obama is accepting donations from foreigners, another violation of federal law.
So a test was devised::
He returned to the Obama site and made three more donations using the names Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein and Bill Ayers, all with different addresses but the same credit card. The transactions all went through. By Saturday, hed reported that the transactions had all posted to his credit-card account.
In another test, the National Journal sends a dodgy donation to the Obama and McCain camps:
The Obama campaigns Web site accepted the $25 donation, but the McCain campaigns Web site rejected it. Rebecca Donatelli, president of Campaign Solutions of Alexandria, Va., which processes donations for John McCain, said her system rejected the donation because American Express could not verify that the donor lived at the address given with the online contribution."
Even Osama could donate to Obama

Sorry,
I wouldn’t donate a dime to the Obama campaign for a joke. That’s just kind of dumb.
