Capturing the Catholic Vote
self | October 28,2008 | Gemsbok

Tie the Obama vote clearly to Abortion, not pro-choice or right-to choose. If they're going to vote for an man dedicated to late-term abortion and infanticide then make the voter & 'c'atholic own his/her vote......

TOPICS: Chit/Chat; Religion
KEYWORDS: abortion; catholics; life; obama
Accomplish this by placing these 3 signs in high and hard to reach locations near Caholic parishes. The lettering needs to be painted in large block style that is simple to read. The signs are attached either vertically or horizontally. The center sign is an Obama campaign sign. The other two signs should say: "YES, FOR ABORTIONS" and the other sign states,"KILLING is not a SIN.".... Catholics need to accept and own the sin that goes with the vote. Perhaps, with discovery, hope, and prayer they will come to terms with the damnation they face and change their votes on all candidates to support Life.

Okay, I see you just signed up on FR this year, so I'm gonna be nice...
FYI, the Catholics who attend Mass are not the ones who might be voting for Obama...in fact the “Catholics” who might be voting for him likely don't even know where their local Catholic church is located! LOL

And for the 1001th time, there is a HUGE difference in Catholics & CINO’s...just like there is a HUGE difference in Jewish & JINO’s...

But we appreciate your interest in Catholics & Catholicism and this election...ya might take that same enthusiasm down to your church or synagogue. BIG SMILE

I disagree. All of the Catholics I know who are voting for Obama unfortunately do go to mass every week!

Well, you live in WA, and there’s definitely something in the water up there! LOL

Know of two women who attend Mass every Sunday, and who have heard the priest’s homily why not to vote for pro-choice, and who will still vote Obama. Their reasoning: don’t mix religion with government. Both are well to do.

Beating my head against the wall in disbelief doesn’t help.

You’re right about the water in WA, but most of the Catholics I know are from MN.

I hear you. Republican is a dirty word around here. The priest at my son's school even invited one of those democratic operatives to come in and “explain” how voting for the most ostensibly PRO DEATH candidate ever (yes, I mean Obama for those of you not sure) is a better pro life vote than a vote for McCain. Now Nancy Pelosi is saying a democratic majority is more bipartisan than a real republican/democrat split. In the words of Shakespeare “Fair is foul and foul is fair.”

Our daily mass group are overwhelmingly for Obama. They seem like such a nice group, but they downplay a lot of church teachings. This is an extremely liberal bunch and other than them being nice, it saddens me to hear what they say of the church. They are against most of what the Magisterium teaches. I pray that conservative Catholics are miles apart from this groups' reasoning!

Notice the spelling of Catholics in my post: ‘c’ atholics, it wasn’t a typo.

And my experience has been quite different than yours. I participated in the team that blanketed the cars of hundreds of thousands of cars outside of Mass the Sunday prior to Election 2004 with the Catholic Voter’s Guide (in battle ground states.)

It was necessary because many of the regular worshipers are supporting pro-aborts. John Kerry walked proudly through their doors for the two months prior to the election. It’s a shame. but it’s true. Big Smile back to you :-))).

Sound like a bunch of "cafeteria Catholics".

Of course I realize the difference between CINO’s & CHINO’s & JINO’s and the ones truly faithful to God.

Unfortunately, there are many worshippers that faithfully attend to the customs & rituals of their faith, yet ignore the principles and the Commandment’s laid down by God. Christians do it. Jews do it. And, yes, Catholics do it too. If they followed God’s commands, we would not be an aborting country.

Catholics need to accept and own the sin that goes with the vote.

Please don't use 'Catholics' as an all encompassing word, 'people' would be better as it surely happens in every church.

I am a Catholic who once lay FLAT on my back in bed for 4 months to save a baby that later died. I had a young unmarried black woman working for me who wanted to 'lift and move furniture' trying to abort a pregnancy! Ironic.

People like Kennedy, Pelosi and Kerry are 'Catholics in name only'.

I once made the mistake of taking a picture in a casino in Las Vegas and the management exposed that shot to light to destroy it. The reason I asked? Because some Baptist minister might be here drinking with a 'girlfriend'.

We are people, the good, the bad and the ugly.

and those are what we call CINO’s or “cafeteria Catholics”

See post # 12.
I’m not leaving anyone of the hook for disobeying God and the killing of the unborn.

It is just that as Catholics, the doctrine is crystal clear, and not subject to the meaning of ‘is’. The same beliefs hold true for fundamentalist Christians and Orthodox Jews. The Christian Coalition and a few other groups do a good job of reinforcing the principles that insist a Christian vote against pro-abortion candidates. Therefore, their vote for life is assumed and not targetted in the same way.

Unfortunately, the differences between the various Other denominations within the Christain faith do not lend themselves to targeting as a voting demographic. Researching the religious teaching of these houses of worship is too variable to yield results and some have wandered so far from Christ’s teachings that it’s nearly a waste of time to even attempt the persuasion to Life.

The majority of the Jews are statisically the same way. The overwhelming majority tend to support abortion on demand and intentionally seek and support abortion candidates. In America, they have become secular and cultural Jews that are connected by ancestory to the tribe of David, but no longer practice the tenets of their faith.

[as Catholics, the doctrine is crystal clear ]

Absolutely!

Too bad the Protestant churches can’t be put under a single net as the dictionary does;

Protestant, a member of any of several church denominations denying the universal authority of the Pope and affirming the Reformation principles of justification by faith alone, and the primacy of the Bible as the only source of revealed truth ; broadly : a Christian not of a Catholic or Eastern church

Right, but many of the CINO’s are attending Mass along with Catholics.

And since they still go through the trouble to attend Mass and the pretense of being a Catholic, they ->may<- still be reachable to vote against abortion.
