'Rock legends Led Zeppelin are planning to tour and record but without frontman Robert Plant.

Bassist John Paul Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought after Plant ruled himself out.

The last time the band performed together was at the O2 arena in London in December 2007.

Speculation has since been rife that the surviving members of the band, with Jason Bonham, son of their late drummer John Bonham, would go back on the road.

Jones, speaking at a guitar show in Exeter, Devon said: "We are trying out a couple of singers.

"We want to do it. It's sounding great and we want to get on and get out there." '

what about tenile? surely the captain ruled that relationship.

Toni Tennile sang vocals on Pink Floyd's The Wall.

Donovan needs the work!

From the nosebleed seats, he might even look like Plant.

Sammy Hagar? Unemployed again (longer than the unemployment insurance of 99 weeks, too!)

The world would have been a sadder place all around if Stephen Stills had passed his Monkees audition.

How DID you get here??? I’m down in the Cayman Islands doing some work... I went out the first few nights imbibing quite heavily on the local rum. Work demands put an end to my nocturnal teenage behavior. When this / your post appeared, I thought I had posted whilst in a fog late one night while down here on the island. My post seemed intelligible, to my surprise. Upon further investigation I noticed that you were replying to something I posted in 2008. THAT was a bit of a shock, to be quite honest. Your post however, to my post made perfect sense. Yes, many a past favorites are ready for the old folks home, and with that being said- would fit into the aforementioned group quite nicely. Hey, this beats watching the Kenyan flap his filthy lying gums on the telly about some kind of deal cut with the Shiite terrorists controlling Iran. Truth is I changed the channel to a football game, so that there would be no way I would hear the lying sack of shiite, intentionally, or by accident.
