It won’t be the same, but hey, if people are willing to pay to see them perform, what do I care?
I know I wouldn’t pay to see it. But that’s just me.

They should get Terry Reid.
The ORIGINAL choice for lead singer back in 1968, who STILL has a great voice and still makes music.

“He said: “It’s got to be right. There’s no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don’t want to be our own tribute band.””
Well, what do they want to do then? Just use the Led Zeppelin name to haul in some cash?

Here's a totally left field idea. . .
What's Reg Presley of the Troggs doing? :-)
His deadpan delivery over Zep's thunder - could be intriguing. The Troggs single "Feels Like a Woman" (produced by Roger Bain), put ol' Reg in front of a Sabbath-like backing track and it was killer.
Yep, time to get back on the meds.

That;s the best idea I’ve heard. Terry Reid is woefully underrated.

I would rather hear Robert Plant with Allison Krauss. Last time Page and Plant got together it was a train wreck.

Another great band prostitutes themselves. I could not believe that The Who continued on after John Entwistle’s death. It was obvious that the heart of The Who died with Keith Moon. I think the same can be said for Led Zep/Bonham.
Daltrey/Townshend even described themselves as a cover band for The Who.

I’ve never understood that either, I guess it’s all for the money but have some courage and respect and make up another band name. I can’t believe one person would go see them without Robert, how sad.
To: exhaustguy
Yea, when you’ve only got two of the original members, that ain’t the band playing.

Really?.
The two concerts I saw of them, in 1995 and 1998, were two of the best I have ever been to.
And their two albums, esp the MTV Unplugged album, were brilliant.

Still a great band live, though. WELL worth anyone’s money.
And 2006’s ‘Endless Wire’ is an excellent album.
To: the scotsman
Uh Led Zeppelin - Robert Plant? Ridiculous.

I absolutely agree scottsman, Terry would be the perfect choice, but he turned them down forty years ago. Maybe he has more artistic integrety than lust for money and fame. Terry walks with the dinasaurs, but he refuses to sell-out and be one.

Sometimes, when it's over, it's just over. Always, when it's way over, it's really, really over.
It's really, really way over...IMHO

I was never a huge Zep fan anyway, but this sounds ridiculous.

I remember from “Hammer of the Gods” that Rod Stewart was one of those they wanted as the lead singer but he said no.
To: the scotsman
How about the lead singer of Dread Zeppelin?
He's an Elvis impersonator, that sings like Elvis to reggae Zep tunes. Hugetube em and see.
