Another great band prostitutes themselves. I could not believe that The Who continued on after John Entwistle’s death. It was obvious that the heart of The Who died with Keith Moon. I think the same can be said for Led Zep/Bonham.
Daltrey/Townshend even described themselves as a cover band for The Who.
I’ve never understood that either, I guess it’s all for the money but have some courage and respect and make up another band name. I can’t believe one person would go see them without Robert, how sad.
Yea, when you’ve only got two of the original members, that ain’t the band playing.
Still a great band live, though. WELL worth anyone’s money.
And 2006’s ‘Endless Wire’ is an excellent album.
so if you did something with a friend 30 years ago and someone approached you today and said that they would pay you millions to do it again and your friend refused, would you also refuse?
I really hate what the survivors of Lynyrd Skynyrd have done. I was the biggest Skynyrd fan you’ll ever meet. My first concert was Rossington Collins Band. They were great. Then I saw the 91 tribute tour, which was a good way to do it. It wasn’t Skynyrd—it was a Skynyrd tribute. Ed King came back. They should video of the original band. It was cool. I’ve never gone to see the joke masquarading as Skynyrd now. Never will. I feel for the survivors (there are only two left that play in the band—Billy on piano and Gary on guitar—but I think they sullied the memory of the band. Without Ronnie, there is no Skynyrd. Without Ronnie and Allen, there REALLY is no skynyrd. But they make money, so that’s that.
Then it was announced that the tour was going to be canceled, due to Jon Anderson's respiratory failure, not a good thing for anyone, especially a vocalist. Well, I just hoped that Jon and Rick get better, and maybe I'd be able to see Yes again someday. But then it was announced that Yes was going to go on tour, but without Jon! It was one thing for Yes to tour when Jon wasn't a part of the band, but this just is not right.
