Ive always been a punk and always will be. Even in a suit and tie sometimes that look comes across my face and the people I work with realize theres something different there.
I'm right there with you. My college mentor summed me up many years ago: "You're just a different bird, kid." Worked as a financial writer and editor for a number of years in Boston (see, a Creative Writing degree CAN make money...;-) Walked among the 'normals', spoke their language, but never (quite) fit in -- was always, "That Liz -- she's quite the character."
Jaws would drop when I'd talk politics. Inevitably, the response was (and still is) "I NEVER figured you for a conservative..."
Fun at cocktail parties and corporate outings, but I always prefer the mosh pit.
