If McCain loses, let's all wear black on 11/5 (if it is not your color, try mauve or coral orange)

If McCain loses, let's make November 5th a National Day of Mourning for conservatives. Wear BLACK.

Forget wearing black. But start telling hard of hearing friends and parents not to talk loud in public if they aren’t Obama supporters. I fear a wave of nut-roots (that were already crazy) are about to become the judges of people’s speech. And with it will come circumstances that will see how well society copes. Don’t forget: these people have been projecting their own persecution for 8 years!

I agree. I wish there was no early voting but my dil had to vote at a different polling place than mine so she wanted us to go vote together. Early voting here takes place in one common place. It allowed us to vote at the same place at the same time.

When you lose a battle you don’t wear black. You regroup, plan a new strategy, get new leadership and attack.

Thank you for the kind words. I do understand why a person has to sign so many papers. The people at the polling place didn’t like it one bit, though. But my dil insisted. After I showed her how, she handled the last page by herself. We have the touch screen voting machines. Anyway I think she will do fine by herself next time. She was very proud of herself for voting.

I'll say it right now - Obama is going to LOSE!
He will make a fast trip from messiah to pariah. (The bigger they are, the harder they fall.)

You’ll just be confused with the new members of 0bama’s “National Civilian Security Force”.

I would say that not all debt is a person’s fault. Sometimes debt comes through catastrophic illness which an insurance company fights, through accident or other means that even the most careful and cautious can’t always avoid. Clearly we need better options than what we have now but it needs to start with ending voluntary abuse of credit or prohibiting the discharge of such voluntary debts by means of bankruptcy. Of course, it would help if our own governments could demonstrate their own ability to live within their means.

We have become a very materialistic society and while it has been good for the economy, or had been until now, it is not good for the overall health of the nation. Credit card debt needs to be reined in. I have seen divorce settlement agreements where the couple had $80k or more in credit card debt alone. The whole idea that everyone needs a big screen television, annual cruises to the Bahamas and Christmas in Hawaii, not to mention the latest technology is nonsense unless they can pay cash for such luxuries. That involves, however, some painful adjustments to the whole fabric of our culture these days and I don’t think the country has a stomach for such austerity without being forced to it. But debtor prison is not an answer because it breaks up families, costs tax money to support, and creates, at best, surly indentured servants. There are surely other ways to bring people around to financial sanity.

The REAL issue is that we need a return to the concept of SHAME. There was a time when people would be too ashamed to accept a handout unless they had honestly already shed themselves of anything but necessities - and even then, would only accept them reluctantly. We are FAR removed from those days.
