Some aides to Sen. John McCain say they weren't happy that running mate Sarah Palin went off script Sunday...Palin deviated from her prepared remarks to talk about her wardrobe controversy Sunday.
... A senior McCain adviser told CNN those comments "were not the remarks we sent to her plane." ...A Palin aide said that the governor clearly felt like she had to say something to defend herself, because "that's really not who she is."
... sources told CNN that long-brewing tensions between Palin and key aides to McCain were on the rise.
McCain advisers suggested that they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin "going rogue."
McCain sources say Palin has gone off-message several times, and they privately wonder whether the incidents were deliberate. They cited an instance in which she labeled robocalls -- used to attack a candidate's opponent -- "irritating" even as the campaign defended their use. Also, they pointed to her telling reporters she disagreed with the campaign's decision to pull out of Michigan.
A McCain source says she appears to be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.
"She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," this McCain adviser said. "She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.
"Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party... ...But this Palin source acknowledged that Palin is trying to take more control of her message, pointing to an impromptu news conference on a Colorado tarmac last week.
CNN contributor and Republican strategist Ed Rollins said Palin was "mishandled" during the earlier part of the campaign, and as a result, "she's become a target of a lot of ridicule."

No. It is Nicolle Wallace, a former Bush WH spokesperson and a former CBS employee, who is involved in the rift with Palin. Google it. It’s not hard to find the truth.
Palin has every right to be angry at the people who handled her "roll-out." Those who mishandled her (Nicolle Wallace and Schmidt) are pointing fingers back at the governor. All of them should keep it to themselves until after the election.
Romney is trying to make McCain and Palin lose so he can run in 2012. If he thinks he has a shot against Sarah, he’s got another thihng coming. He always WAS a RINO.
but don't tell that to the RDS crowd. They seem more interested in dividing the base than helping Palin win. There lack of faith in the base is akin to the DEMs war tactic. Snatching defeat from teh jaws of victory.
I want to apologize to you in public. You and I had a lengthy FReep mail exchange in which you said I was spreading rumors and saying nasty things about Romneybots. I denied it (because I couldn’t find any post where I did that) and heatedly demanded an apology. Then you found the post where I called Romneybots idiots (#53).
So, you were right and I was wrong. My thread page settings got reset a week or two ago when the forum had crashed so hard, and I just didn’t notice my thread page display had gotten reset to 50 posts. That’s why I couldn’t find #53 in the thread where I called Romneybots idiots.
I’m sorry and I ask you to forgive me.
It is well documented, however, that Palin has had a rift with Nicolle Wallace, who is a Bushbot and former CBS employee(and colleague of Katie Couric). And, it's not like Bush people haven't turned on us (i.e. Scott McClellan, Colin Powell et al)!
Instead of falling for the MSM bait and engaging in infighting, however, it would be smarter if people held their fire until after the election. It's more important to beat Obama right now.
However, after the election, it might be interesting to find out how Nicolle Wallace came to work for the McCain team, how she was assigned to handle Palin's roll out and why she steered Palin into a Katie Couric interview. Nobody can deny the timing of that interview was not in Sarah Palin's best interest, to say the least. Palin was on a roll until then and, subsequently, became labeled unfairly.
Does anybody happen to know if the exact individuals were ever identified?
I've read 100s of times in dozens of places that Romney Aides were responsible for all the leaks.
Was this ever proven?
Were they paid aides, or were they unpaid friends??
