Vanity - Excellent rendition of our National Anthem.

As we were leaving a restaurant this evening, I overheard some woman positively butchering the national anthem.

It made me go home and search youtube for a rendition by the

Cactus Cuties.

Enjoy!

If you liked that one, here they are singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

There's always going to be hope for America as long as parents keep raising kids like these!

You go to a restaurant that has someone sing The National Anthem as people leave???

It was Patti LaBelle........amazing pipes, yet a rendition of our national anthem that simply said “Dig ME!!!”.

Worse than pathetic. She, a professional, should have known better....and should have a better self-image by now.

I thought I heard skylight for twilight and some other ebonics later on I can’t remember.

That was Patti LaBelle? Damn. I used to think she could sing. I didn’t catch the intro but the sound was very annoying and caught my attention. What a mess.

My husband is constantly surprised by the “singers” who can’t simply sing the notes and words that were written. No interpretation needed.

Yeah, she finished and there was a brief pause by the broadcast crew and then, “WOW....um..er..ah..Philadelphia’s own, Patti Labelle....”

They were stuned, but just couldn’t say anything bad about the “performance”....

I’m sure they had a good laugh during the commercial break, tho......

There needs to be a new rule concerning performers singing the national anthem before sports events.

Do NOT attempt to ‘make the song your own’ unless you are absolutely, positively, 100% sure that you can pull it off ala Marvin Gaye.

That was nice. But this is still my all time rendition of the national anthem. And no it’s not Whitney Houston.

It’s Sandi Patty and when you hear the piano at the end of the first stanza....you will probably like it as much as I did. Around the 2:29 mark.....She sings it like she’s in love with her country......
