Obama's Views Conflict With NRA Members
Last August, I had the honor to serve the Republican National Convention Platform in Minneapolis representing Arkansas views and values.
The RNC platform we wrote states: "Republicans remain the party of vigorous action against crime and the party that empowers the law-abiding by protecting their right to keep and bear arms for self-protection.
"We uphold the right of individual Americans to own firearms, a right which antedated the Constitution and was solemnly confirmed by the Second Amendment. Gun ownership is responsible citizenship, enabling Americans to defend themselves, their property, and communities. "
Contrast Republican beliefs from Obama's: "We believe that the right to own firearms is subject to reasonable regulation."
Then check out Obama on the record: "I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry." Barack Obama, Chicago Tribune, April 27, 2004.
"Just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can't constrain the exercise of that right." Obama, 2008 Philadelphia primary debate.
He has endorsed a ban on all handguns in order to eliminate private ownership. (See Politico, March 31. 2008)
Obama voted to allow the prosecution of people who use a firearm in self-defense in their homes. Illinois Senate, S.B. 2165, vote 20, March 34, 2004
Fellow hunters beware! Obama voted to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting. United States Senate, S. 397, vote 217, July 29, 2005.

In a Dem election sweep, semi-autos will be banned in 2009 — “common sense gun control.” I want to see the faces of the morons in PA and IA and NV and CO when their guns are confiscated after voting for The One.
Yeah...but that’s not going to happen if we get the word out on this to those states! We need to alert voters in PA, IA, NV and CO so they don’t vote for “The One”!
We went to a gun show this morning ( NY ) and they were handing out anti Obama literature that I snatched up for my gun loving yet koolaid drinking Obama supporting family. ( They say I’m adopted). Came home and got lock and load lessons on hubbys Colt .45
All those rednecks, moderates, “life long Republicans,” and even gun owners who refuse to accept the reality now are going to have to learn the hard way, along with everyone else. We’ll see how they like it when they have to admit they were lied too.
Help elect Obama, and kiss the First and Second Amendments goodbye.
