Now that It's becoming obvious based on Obama's own words that the guy is a communist, there's this talking point/narrative emerging out there that the reagans and annenberg were communists.
You should know a few things about the annenberg challenge, if you don't already know.
It was not Ayres by himself, his lonesome. He was not just a single terrorist who decided to ask for money.
Ayres had help from two other people. Anne Hallet and Warren Chapman co authored the proposal.
And Ayres had the backing of 70+ other groups and professors.
Add in that Ayres had the backing of three big guns; the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Joyce Foundation, and the Spencer Foundation.
Had a group of professors, foundations, and big guns came up to my organization requesting money for education I too would not have been quick to do background checks. With this amount of backing, I'd say this is a great choice to make.
Also, worth noting is that Ayres' terrorism has not been a big deal until this political campaign. It wasn't a big deal during the 90's nor the 80's AFAIK. And during the time when Ayres was going around blowing stuff up, the liberal media had a monopoly.
Ayres never gained the notoriety that one McVeigh gained. Plus, who would ever expect any self respecting college to think that a former terrorist would make a good professor?
Don't fall for this talking point of b-b-but! the reagans! it's incredibly weak.

Wassat?
The Idea that Reagan was a communist is so stupid that it becomes funny.
correction http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2114686/posts sorry
Well, of course. But having some facts to back up your argument makes it all that much better.
Stating something may not matter, but stating something and stating why can make a powerful argument.
Thanks.
