No matter who wins, Palin will be a force in GOP (WSJ)
WSJ ^ | October 24, 2008 | Gerald Seib

The luster and popularity of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin have faded, but this much remains certain: Regardless of the outcome of the election in 11 days, she will be around for a while as a force in Republican politics.

She hasn't done for Sen. John McCain's ticket what the most giddy members of her party hoped back in September, after her blockbuster convention acceptance speech. She doesn't appear to have won the hearts and minds of independent voters in vast numbers, nor has she proved a magnet for waves of women who otherwise would vote Democratic. In a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, a majority of Americans say she isn't qualified to be president.

Ending the commentary on a positive note, doesn't make this a positive article for me. He drags up all the negatives from the democratic talking points and throws in the 'great future' to attempt a balance.

At this point the only way to slam dunk the media for the horrific bias is to elect McCain-Palin.

No it isn’t the original. It should be GOP. I didn’t change it when I copied from WSJ.

Thanks for the proofreading help.

We are looking ahead to 2012. Join team Sarah @ www.teamsarah.org. They had over 3 thousand people enlist last night and it crashed their server so if you tried to get in they are fine right now.

McCain/Palin will win, and Palin will be POTUS in 2012, and maybe sooner.

There is a segment of the media that hammers Palin on a regular basis.....Howard Stern, Stewart, Letterman, etc. who reinforce and build on the democratic talking points. I don’t watch any of them, but when I talk with someone who does they are in lock step with the negatives the author talks about.

Excuse me, but she has done such a splendid job that the WP and the rest of the msm can’t quit headlining with her every single day since she stepped onto the stage.

Whut? This article starts from a false premise to begin with, namely that Governor Palin's luster has faded and that she has not done for McCain's campaign what it expected.

First, she's the ONLY reason that McCain is within a point or two of Obama in the polls, and second, her crowds and rallies continue to be enormous, and she's still raking in the dough for the campaign. Otherwise, I do agree that if McCain loses, then Governor palin is automatically the GOP frontrunner for 2012 against Barry.

She’s already done the most important thing, energized a base disgusted with the top of the ticket. The saying is that you can’t believe anything in Washington until somebody denies it. All these attacks would not be happening if she was not effective.
