The Winchester 94 is a fun rifle to shoot. As far as accuracy, it is not a tack-driver, especially with iron sights, but it will get the job done up to 125 - 150 yards; anything much beyond that is cloaked in a lot of luck.

Think posting up what you've got is a good idea? Even if McCain wins, you've still got a 'Rat Congress with possibly a 60-vote, filibuster-proof 'Rat senatorial majority staring down your throat for the next two years.

Lever actions are/can be fun. I do not hold the 30-30 in high regard. Many years ago I was pig hunting on the Hunter Ligette base in Kalifornia. We spotted a very large boar for the time - around 600 pounds. The guy I was with saw his first so it was his kill. He shot it three times with a 30-30 and the dust just puffed up off the animal. I finished with one shot from my 7x57 clean through the boiler room. When we cleaned the hog all three 30-30 bullets were stuck in the cartilage over the ribs. Never penetrated.

Had a tour of the Savage Arms plant yesterday - quite the operation. Met Ron coburn, and had quite the chat/discussion. Savage is going places again.

One of my favorites. Commonly called the "jungle carbine," it was a slimmed-down and weight-trimmed version of the old No.1 Mk4 for paratroopers.

I have a ‘93 Mod 94. I’ve been thinking about putting a Lyman on it. How do you like the one on yours?

Nothing like a good 454 carbine/pistol combination.

Thanks for the photo. I have a 60 year old model 94 in the 32 win special format. Do you have any idea of value? It is not for sale I received it for Christmas from my Dad when I was a kid. Thanks.

No pic. but I did pick up a "Post Election Special" last week.
I came across a used Mossberg 500A Cruiser
12 gauge
20" barrel
8 shot
Wood Stock & forend
Research showed it was made in 1997. Condition is between Very Good and Excellent. There is very minor wear on the bluing from the action being cycled, and a faint mark on the stock where the strap held it in a vehicle gun mount. Yup, it rode around in a squad car for 10 years and was traded in. When I got it home I striped it down, cleaned & lubed it, then changed to a Knoxx CompStock. After a quad bypass, reducing recoil is healthy. [grin]
