I wanted to take just a brief moment to talk about a disscusion with evolved on a state newpaper's message board from a letter to the editor that I wrote the other day regarding the elctions.
The discussion focused on the selection of judges and how the Supreme Court works.
This is something that has been discussed numerous times. Probably one of the main points is that a judges job is to interpet the Constitution, not legislate from the bunch.
There were some in the discussion that got it and some that didn't. The focus was on the idea of replacing the U.S. Constitution with European law which clearly is something the founding fathers did not intend for this country.
One of the dumbest most idiotic statments made was that being against the idea of replacing the U.S. Constitution with European law smells of arrogance. I thought the person who posted that message was more intelligent than that but I was wrong.
The bottom line to all of this is that we are in a major culture war for the right to maintain America as it is. There unfortunately are some in the neighborhood who want to change America and allow other nations to impose their culture and their laws on us.
I can tell you that if Obama wins and the Democrats maintain control of Congeress this will most likely be what happens and it will most certainly be to the detriment of all of us here in America.
