should be a great series

Both teams know how to hit the ball

Advantage : Phillies

(1) more experience in the big games, more veteran players

(2) better closer (Lidge is 48-0 this year)

Of course, I am biased but I think this is a good analysis

bottom line : whoever gets more runs wins ! : )

It’s insane to start these games at 8:35PM on a school night.

How is THE GAME going to draw interest from youngsters when they...like most starting pitchers....have to be ‘yanked’ after the 5th inning??

GO SOX!

Oh, wait, never mind.

Seriously, is there really any audience for this series?

If I had to choose (as a Sox fan) I’d root for the Rays, they were impressive the last 2 years, and putting the Yankme’s into 3rd place was really cool. Never thought I’d see that in my lifetime.

I will be happy no matter which team wins: there are no teams from Boston, Chicago, LA, NY in it. THAT is change you can beleive in!

Beautiful weather here today...low 80’s I’d say, maybe some rain tomorrow, but the game’s inside, so who cares about a little rain.

The cowbell almost made those games unbearable to watch for me.
I was hoping some network guy would wack the dude(s) with a bat to shut him up.

Phils in 5!

True story: In Oct. 1980, I was a 14 year old high school freshman living in the Philadelphia area. The day before Game 6 (Phils v. Royals), my graphic arts teacher (friends with John Vukovich) tells me he couldn’t use his ticket BEHIND THE BACKSTOP, and offers it to me, FREE!! Of course, my parents being non-indulgent and responsible, would not permit me to go to the game alone, so I didn’t go. The Phils won the 1980 World Series in Game 6 at the Vet.

Now, fast-forward 28 years. I’m a grown man, have my own kids, and I’m fully appreciative of my parents’ concern in 1980. I may have the opportunity (long shot) to go to the game on Monday 10/27!!!

That’s why I NEED the Phils in 5...28 years is a long time, especially for someone who coulda’ been there!!!

Thanks for starting this thread.

I am a baseball nut. I don't care who is playing.
I already know my Pirates will never be in it again. Resigned to that.

My pick: Phillies
Why? Home Runs
Home Field:
The Rays fans ring cow bells in the stands.

Not a Philly fan at all but I do think they have a slight edge.
Philly fans throw D-Cell batteries.

The Tampa Bay Rays need to be reminded of what they truly are, The Tampa Bay Rays of old. they are the flukiest team ever to play in the World Series(outdo the Twins in 1987....go Philadelphia Phillies put the Rays back to being the doormat of the whole MLB with a 4 game sweep!!!!...
