I was at Lewis from 1980-84. Second of the First Infantry, 1st Bde until the HTTB reshuffle to organize the HTLD (Hi-Tech Light Division). Then 2/1 went over to the 3rd Bde. By that time I was a staff puke up at the Division G4. Serving with LTC MacCaffrey, who was first the G3 then became the Chief of Staff. Remember him? He went on to become General MacCaffrey and commander of 2nd ID during Gulf War #1 and later he was the Drug Czar under Clinton. Total jerk. Total meglomaniac.

I vaguely remember him, he became COS around late 81 or early 82? My memory just isn’t what it used to be :)
