Captain Kirk goes ballistic. Can't say that I blame him.
Takei is making this huge deal out of these alleged slights and how he was victimized because he was gay. It turns out that nobody cares, and nobody ever cared.
Nothing makes an attention seeker more angry than when he stands up and says "Look at me!" and everybody ignores him.

Reminds me of the “I’m Gay” skit on In Living Color, where Jim Carry was at a party and pointed out to Everybody that he was gay, then took offense when someone came on to him.

Takei should be more upset with Koenig who benefitted from having some of Sulu’s parts rewritten for him when he was added to the cast. (Part of the problem was that Sulu was stuck in Asia filming a John Wayne movie during monsoon season.)

If you are accepted, then people are not going to treat you like you’re a big deal. That is the fundamental logical disconnect with the drive for acceptance by homosexuals. Deep down, being accepted is the last thing they want.
