Mr. Bill was given to me by my fiance about 20 years ago. He's a black/grey tiger shorthair with a healthy weight of 12 pounds.
The past week was very bad for him and so I will take him to the vet this evening and say good-bye.
He was the first cat my wife and I shared together and he's been with us during out whole marriage. He lived a long and healthy life until the past month where things steadily went downhill, accelerating rapidly the past week.
He was named after the SNL character of old. Seemed I was always saying "Oh no, Mr. Bill!!!"

I’m so sorry for your loss too, Raleighwood. God bless you.
My wife and myself can state we understand your sorrow. It’s sad to lose a friend such as Mr. Bill. We lost our Poo Cat at the ripe old age of 24 a couple of years ago. We still miss her command and control.
Yet, in our darkest hour, at the time of our greatest despair, a cold nose or a purr makes our heart leap, and our souls soar. We learn to love again, and hug a new friend who reminds us of our old one, and has it's own gift to give and share.
That is my wish and my prayer for you.
Thanks.........wish I knew how to post a picture of him. He was most beautiful.
Raleigh, very sorry to hear about your husky. May God give you and Jay comfort through the loss of your precious friends.
My heart goes out to you.
I had a kitty pal for 20 years named Shenendora. He stuck around until my oldest daughter was born. Then went to kitty heaven, knowing his job of keeping me company was done.
But I have to tell you, that same daughter went to Petsmart about 6 months ago. A little orange kitten fell in love with her.
Baron is Shenendora all over again. I find it amazing!
I’m sorry about Mr. Bill. I lost two cats in the last 10 months. I’m sure you will have many smiles thinking about Mr. Bill and remember all animals must go back to god.
God has given me comfort. He’s 2 months old and is swinging in his baby swing and his name is Noah.

Making that final trip to the vet is one of the hardest things to do, but it is truly an act of great kindness. Our furry friends can’t tell us except through their actions that the time has come. For both Raleigh and Jay, someday soon your grief will ease, and please know if you have room in your homes and hearts, there’s always another homeless cat or dog out there looking to be part of your life. I think those folks at the SPCA truly do the Lord’s work...

Condolences on the loss of your little buddy!
Jay,
My condolences to you and your wife. Our family loves our dog and cats as well and they really are members of the family. It sounds like Mr. Bill had a good life during those 20 years he was with you and that’s the thing to concentrate on, the good times.
Sooner or later, we have to give them back to HIM who gave them to us.
Kindest regards to you.
Tell Mr. Bill to say HI to “Grey” and “Stripe” when he gets to Kitty Heaven.........20 years is a LOOOOONG time....but, any pet is like a member of the family, no matter how long. Our prayers are with you.
