That particular incident was very telling.
There was many thousands and thousands of hours of flight experience on that plane.
And, as you say, electronic confirmation and recordings.
Whatever it was, it wasn’t no swamp gas.

I loved it that the FAA DIRECTOR for the area walked away with the Radar tape . . . still has it, IIRC.
