Cindy McCain was new to Washington and not yet 30 when she arrived at a luncheon for Congressional spouses to discover a problem with her name tag.

It read “Carol McCain.” That was the well-liked wife John McCain had left to marry Cindy, to the disapproval of many in Washington.

Here is my letter to Kantor and the editor. I suggest a strong letter writing campaign and blow out the Grey Lady's Mail Server!

Dear Executive Editor,

I have a great idea for a piece to describe the Old Grey Lady's legacy. It goes like this:

Once upon a time, there was a newspaper called The New York Times.

And in that paper, they once employed journalists.

The journalists, often making nearly $20 a week, were attired with typewriters, paper, some white out, memo pads and standard #2 Pencils.

And once a upon a time, the journalists actually went out into the street or on the beat, and... reported the news!

But that time is no longer I am afraid. Ironic isn't it that The National Enquirer actually gets a real news story about a prominent democrat and reports it. And the New York Times, now much more a tabloid outfit than the Enquirer ever was, fabricates and assassinates the character of a very decent woman, without any facts and without any shame.

So in my piece that I'm thinking about writing - basically a report on Ms. Kantor's background; I was thinking about trolling through several her MySpace, Facebook, Tagged and Match.com friends to see what bilge I can dig up on a second or third-hand basis. I would do this by not even speaking directly with these people, nor would I find a source to back up any such information. Then, I would make all sorts of vile assertions as to Ms. Kantor's character in a very public way. I would not offer her a chance to rebut these allegations in a timely manner or in a fair article and then say she declined to comment. Hell! I'm sure it would sell a whole lot of papers...

So whaddya, think? Can I have Jason Blair's old desk?

Oh wait, that's right. You already gave it to Ms. Kantor!!!!

What a pathetic waste of paper your rag has become. The New York Times is not even fit to wrap a fish with! I wouldn't even line my birdcage with this filth.

Not so respectfully yours any more I am afraid...

The Old Gray Mare is vying for the job of “That One’s” Pravda. They are tapdancing for him as hard as they can.

Yo, Treason Times, that is so yesterday — that was what, like 30 years ago? Like metrosexual and light-in-the loafer dewds, didn’t dinosaurs roam the earth back then? Ya know, like, nobody cares.

Like, do you like, still print this crap on like paper? Does anyone like, give you a nickel for it?

I don't know about the paper, but it won't be too long before the stock price is about a nickel. Thanks to the guidance and leadership of Pinch Sulzberger!
