Barack Obama’s speeches contain the hypnosis techniques of Dr. Milton Erickson, M.D. who developed a form of “conversational” hypnosis that could be hidden in seemingly normal speech and used on patients without their knowledge for therapy purposes. Obama’s speeches intentionally contain:

I skimmed the whole article and plan to go back and check out the footnotes when I have more time. I’m a Psych major, but this whole concept of O using hypnosis escaped me until now.

agreed — read it too and it is not without errors and typo's etc... BUT this is not the work of a wacko — frankly, I think the piece is pretty credible... hypnosis is real, so is NLP and (within limits) they both “work”...

three thoughts...

1. NLP may help explain Obama’s reliance on a teleprompter — to use this technique effectively, it is VERY helpful to work off a precise script, complete with “pacing” help...

2. IF, the poster's thesis is “correct” — it should be fairly easy to predict the general structure and content of Obama’s October 29th TV speech... because...

3. Though the televised speech itself is a weird idea for a front-runner so close to the election night... it MAKES ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF SENSE if you buy the NLP argument... Obama needs one last MASS MARKET opportunity to activate all of the subliminal suggestions he has implanted...

Call me a tin-hat wearer if you like — but there is something to this.
