I came across the pilot (3 episodes) of the Lone Ranger TV program on one of the torrent sites a few months ago.
I couldn’t resist. I had to get them.
I like watching the pilots (both unaired and aired) of some of the classic televisions shows.

I came across the pilot (3 episodes) of the Lone Ranger TV program on one of the torrent sites a few months ago.I have a VCR rendition of that. Abysmal quality, but still worthwhile. I recall when it first aired. I still recall having to be home for Hopalong Cassidy on TV. Though earlier than those we're discussing, Hoppy was also a real no-nonsense hero. I love his Westerns and have a number on DVD.

Hard to believe....I remember watching some of these television shows in their premier season.
Hard to believe ... that I can still remember the names of most of the regular actors/stars in those programs and don't know the name of most of the actors in the current venue on TV.

Yep, but later...
Dennis was also a welcome addition to the Westerns Channel. I was sorry to hear of his death...

When I was a kid we visited Colorado on vacation and Bill Elliott was having dinner near our table. Dad asked him to stop by and autograph a napkin for me after dinner and he did. Wow! Never forget that...

Wanted Dead or Alive I also loved. Wagon Train not so much. It had too many divergent characters for me. And it didn’t show the “toughness” I wanted. I was a young (pre-or-early teen) who wanted realism...I was interested in Western history), and shows like Gunsmoke & Have Gun Will Travel provided it.
Oh, I know, the clothes, the weapons, etc. didn’t provide much “realism”. But I was looking for authentic behavior. And some shows provided it...
