My wonderful DH and I have been married 5.5 years. He is currently deployed to Iraq, so I decided to take inventory and straighten out his dresser drawers, plus the drawers in the closet. (With his blessing and permission, mind you.)
He has socks in 4 different drawers. He has over 80 pairs of socks. Most of his socks are black (work) or white (non-work), with a very few pair of other colors.
Ummm.... is this normal? Socks in 4 different drawers? Over 80 pairs? Or am I just married to a guy who loves his socks?

I once owned over 100 lbs of boot socks I bought for less than a dollar per pound... from America too.
LOL, I might be the only FR member that has sent socks to JimRob.... ask him... I got tons of socks at a great price... gave to my friends...
Yup! 1 pair for good; 2 pair for work. 67 ugly, mismatched or holey to polish the tractor car.

I don't remember... Boot socks cost a fortune in stores and these were heavy... I got such a great deal cause they used the wrong shade of grey yarn in them... or the yarn dye was off slightly... They had nice complette sewed toes in them (easy on the toes compared to the old Turn Sew Turn seams)..I wear them daily and FReep in them (even if wearing little else)...
I keep 2-3 drawers filled with them and yes they do take up lots of space... so when a pile gets good and plump, I make a full load wash with a tiny smidge of clorox thrown in. Wife is happy, I am happy...

Somewhere around, I believe I have a picture from a Marine Parents conference held earlier this year. Col. Brian McCoy, author of The Passion of Command, was there. After all was over and everyone was kicking back in my suite, a bunch of folks showed up in casual dress. To make a long story short, there’s a picture of a bunch of feet with fuzzy bedroom slippers. The one wearing the hot pink ones is Col. McCoy, LOL! What a great guy with a sense of humor. Same night I met Col. Willy Buhl, the former 3/1 Marines C.O. during the battle for Fallujah. Another great guy...

I have about 35 pair, it would be 80 if my wife didn’t keep throwing them out or using them as dust gloves. The fact that there is any colors other than black is because the non-blacks came in a package bundled with a bunch of black ones.
