Comparisons to Hitler should be reserved only to genocidal madmen.
Come on, Obama is not like Hitler at all, except that both:
1. Claim that you’ll make them proud of their nation again.
2. Blame everything on the present government.
3. Develop a logo to be used everywhere.
4. Involve the children, make it a family event
5. Convince them that the government, under your guidance, is the cure
6. Make your followers believe.....believe...that they understand
something that others do not. We are special!
7. Ridicule the opposition - they deserve no respect (important)
8. Get power in any way possible, if you win you then hold the reigns on the
enforcement authority, you will not punish yourself.
9. Use a financial problem that affects as many people as possible. Blame it on the opponents.
10. Be ready to use force to fight your opponents.
Reductio ad Hitlerum
Like the Iranian nutjob? Mugabe? Your Black Muslim Bakery?
I totally disagree. Hitler's rise to power was not only notable, but deserving of study and caution when the same elements are recognized in todays world.
If we wait until someone else finally becomes a genocidal madman, we won't be around to make the comparison.
How do you know Obama isn’t genocidal? What about the people around him?
Let’s not forget that Obama’s mother pretty much dumped him for her “new” family and he wanted to leave her to live with his grandparents. He also wasn’t there when she was dying. I missed my mother’s death by 10 minutes, but I certainly wasn’t in another state!
It seems Freud would have a field day with this.

Hmmmm....
You are speaking from hindsight.
When Hitler was elected, he was not a genocidal madman. He was a “Savior of Germany” that ran on a campaign of “Change”.
There are NINETEEN letters in Barrack Hussein Obama!!!
With the exception of the “use of force”, you’ve listed a bunch of random campaign tactics that are hardly unique to Hitlerian politics. Every political campaign in this country, from both parties, involves almost EVERY one of those items — create a recognizable logo, blame the opposition for everything, create national pride, ridicule, seize on financial difficuties, cart out families and children, etc.
Again — Reductio ad Hitlerum.

I sure HOPE this guy is different than Hitler.
Which candidate of either party have created new presidential seals for their campaign materials?
The real issue here is Hitler was the head of the National Socialist Movement in Germany.
Obama is the head of the International Socialist movement here in America.
Both are ultra-left wing socialists.
And Obama is using the some of the SAME tactics that were used in the past.
>> When Hitler was elected, he was not a genocidal madman. He was a Savior of Germany that ran on a campaign of Change.
So was Ronald Reagan (substitute the US for Germany).
Generally speaking, only the truly desperate must raise Hitler in a political campaign — and only in the rarest of occasions is it a viable comparison ... this is not one of them.
Barack Obama is wrong, and would be a terrible President in the ridiculous model of Jimmy Carter ... but Adolf Hitler he is not. Making such ridiculous comparisons only forces reasonable conservatives, like myself, to come to the defense of a political enemy.

Mussolini is the more appropriate historical analog.
Wrong. Hitler had Ernst Rohm’s stormtroopers in the streets intimidating and cracking heads during the two elections. He wrote Mein Kampf years before taking power in Germany. He was indeed a genocidal madman from the outset.
>> Which candidate of either party have created new presidential seals for their campaign materials?
Every candidate creates logos — few resemble Presidential seals. But, while arrogant and classless, this hardly makes Obama analogous to Adolf Hitler.
