Sculpture
Starr, who released his most recent album Liverpool 8 in January, recently completed a tour of the US and Canada.
The musician currently divides his time between Los Angeles, the South of France and his UK home in Surrey.
In April, a foliage sculpture of Starr outside a railway station in Liverpool was beheaded by vandals.
The performer had reportedly angered some locals when he told the BBC's Jonathan Ross he missed nothing about the city.

First time I’ve seen the video. Thanks for the link. He sure seems like a jerk there.

I loved him in the Caveman movie. Lotsa laughs. Can’t say that I blame him for wanting a bit of privacy. If a person hasn’t gotten his autograph by now, tough noogies.

Hey, I have no problem with Ringo on that.

I totally agree with Ringo on this. Geez, after a lifetime of signing autographs, I wouldn’t want to do them anymore either. He is trying to retire here. Let him. The fans should leave him alone now. He deserves it.

He isn’t trying to retire. IF you go to his website, he is pimping his latest album, called Liverpool. A city he doesn’t find in high regards these days.

Hey, I have no problem with Ringo on that. I don't have a problem with him doing it, only with how he did it. He could have said something like, "I really appreciate all the support you've given me over the years and it means a lot to me that you want to send me things, but I just can't do it anymore." Instead, he came across as an unappreciative jerk.

Some people had hoped he said he would stop singing, not signing. Now that's funny right there. That being said, I did see him in Atlantic City this Summer and it was a very entertaining show. Wifey had never seen a Beatle live before, so it was extra special for her. The quality of the All-Starrs certainly has diminished over the years, though.

I saw him about a decade ago, he doesn’t come around these parts but once every 30 years it seems.
I’ve seen Ringo, Paul, and Pete.
Ringo had John Entwhistle and some others in the All-Stars the year I saw him.
His fame is a trade off. He wouldn’t have become big without the fans and he wouldn’t have gotten into the same circle of influence as his wife if he hadn’t been famous.
He’s still dependent on people buying his new albums. Is there still an official Ringo fan club after this announcement?
It’s not like he’s trying to win over new audiences to his newest material.

I've seen Ringo, Paul and Pete as well. Pete's show was surprisingly good. He seems like a great guy, though to me it was pretty easy to see that his personality would not have fit with the others.
The first time I saw Ringo was, if I remember correctly, his first All-Starr tour around 1989. He had Joe Walsh, Nils Lofgren, Dr. John, Billy Preston, Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Jim Keltner, Clarence Clemons and Todd Rundgren. Now that's an All-Starr lineup!

I can’t recall if Billy Preston was in the band when I saw him. Possibly. If so, then chalk up another Beatle.
