Tragic news.
Check for foul play. Sad news for the young man’s family
Oh My God. This is terrible news. The word here in NYC was that he’d be in MSG next year. It must have been one of those congenital conditions like the one that killed that basketball player from Loyola Marymount some years ago.
This is not new to MSG, though in the past it’s involved the Knicks. Several young prospects either dying or having strange debilitaing diseases, like Tommy Stith back in 62 who suffered TB and Willie gardner of New Mexico who had a heart attack. But this is so horrible for this kid’s family, as a parent I can’t even think about it.
not necessarily. hockey has a way of bringing hithero-unknown heart issues to the fore (Jiri Fischer comes
to mind). Hes skating hard showing the hustle to get
a Rangers deal, impress Jaromir...
tragic, but at least he died doing what he loved.
condolences to his family and teammates.
I heard terrific things about his ability. Although I am a big Ranger fan I don’t particularly follow the NHL draft. I do remember hearing that he was one of the top prospects coming out last year and that the Rangers were lucky to get him with the 17th pick when most experts were projecting he would be one of the top 5 picked. Very sad day and it just goes to show what a tremendously physical and dangerous game hockey is.
Every year we hear of one or two cases exactly like this. Competitive sports revealing previously unknown heart conditions.
Doubtful (though certainly possible) that a 19 year old hockey phenom has dangerous and murderour enemies.
JMO.
Russian players are targeted for payoffs by the mafia. I am not saying that he was murdered but stranger things have happened.
Just stunning news. 19 years old.
