(Vanity) McCain just surrendered tonight. Time to pick our favorites for 2012.

McCain just killed all the momentum and enthusiasm of the last week with this simple sentence in response to an angry attendee at a rally tonight:

“I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."

“No, ma’am. He is a decent family man, citizen"

You can pretty much stick a fork in him. He has acknowledged that his opponent would not be bad for the country and has contradicted his own campaign ads. If mccain wins at this point, it will be because he was dragged into the white house and forced to serve as president by an angry mob.

I’m sorry....but he could have just said...nothing.

There's no need to be sorry. Yes, he could have said nothing, but he doesn't really have the gift of the gab.

He's running from behind right now, and I don't think he or his handlers quite know what to do, anymore.

He needs to find a way to build some momentum. ( not Joementum) He could really use an Obama mistake. In the meantime, it looks like he's treading water for a while.

Do you know how immature that comment sounds? Palin isn’t going to run a second time as Veep and Thompson didn’t have the energy for this run, much less in four years time. The perfect candidate doesn’t exist and it was everyone going in too many directions that allowed McCain to rise to the top, he is now the candidate and unless we want disaster we vote for the candidate and even if (as his mother suggested) if we have to hold our noses.

“I have to tell you he is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States,” McCain said to audible disapproval.

Lets put it this way. You will never see an Obama sticker on my car, but there is another sticker that will never be on my car. I do think Palin is great and would vote for her if she was running for President.

Jeez, Juan, couldn't you have mentioned that he goes to church, too?

Sorry, after McQueeg has finished with whatever it is he's doing, I can't even think of any GOP/RNC person I would want to vote for for in '12.

Provided that is, we will still be allowed to vote.

It is a sad fact but Thompson will be just too old...he’s my age...and I KNOW he will be just too old. We need youth in this party if we are going to survive. We need to get our younger ones up and learning the ropes or the Republican party is going to go belly up.

Palin/Jindhal...works for me.

Reminds me of what Bush41 did in the final weeks of the presidential campaign against Clinton...

During those days media bias was as bad, if not worse, than it is today. The conservative base in concert with talk radio had started an drumbeat against the pro-Clinton media bias. Just as it was beginning to gain some momentum, the liberal MSM started to complain that they were being "harassed and threatened" by Bush supporters. Well Bush41 dutifully got up and condemned the Conservatives that were pointing out the media bias and said the liberal MSM were just "good people doing their job". This effectively killed what little momentum there was...

This case may be even worse. McCain is undercutting his own campaign commercials! Has he decided he's going to lose and is angling for Secretary of Defense in an Obama administration. Or, more likely, like Bush41 he's just kissing the posteriors of the liberal MSM who are upset about conservatives attacking the messiah...

This is because McCain was raised as a Navy man.. a man of honor.. a man that doesn’t criticize. This isn’t about him betraying us, this is about us asking him to betray his own sense of honor and the way he was raised...what was driven into his very soul until he was well into his 40’s while he served in the military himself.. he was not my first choice for President, but at least I “get” John — yes JOHN not JUAN — McCain, more than most comments I read.
