(Vanity) McCain just surrendered tonight. Time to pick our favorites for 2012.

McCain just killed all the momentum and enthusiasm of the last week with this simple sentence in response to an angry attendee at a rally tonight:

“I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."

“No, ma’am. He is a decent family man, citizen"

Palin needs to head the ticket in 2012

get real... if this is the end for McCain, this is the end for her too... her mistake was joining this ticket... she should have waited until 2012 to make her national debut... now she's a footnote--should McCain/Palin lose...

I knew we were doomed when Mcinsane got the nomination. I just don't understand why that train wreck was ever nominated and why he ever ran in the first place. I'm convinced the game is fixed and full blown socialism is next on the plan.

For any that want to read it elsewhere...

McCain warns supporters, calls Obama decent man

http://www.boston.com/news/politics/politicalintelligence/2008/10/mccain_gets_a_l.html

McCain was booed at a town-hall meeting here when he rebuked a man who said he was “scared…to bring a child up” under an Obama presidency. “I have to tell you he is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States,” McCain said to audible disapproval.

that's not the way Ronald Reagan won, was it?

That was then, this is now.

Did you miss this part below? ___________________________________________________________

That worked in the old America, when everything was peachy, not on the verge of collapse.

People are angry and many are losing their butts, holding much contempt for those in government. It's not business as usual at some church picnic gathering.

This is a different day and those that fail to take notice, will be left behind, mocked or just ignored. We are not heading into a polite, business as usual, tea time era.

Yep. But no, it’s not a recruitment thread.

He will recover, it isn’t a game ending mis-step.

All of them are getting tired, that’s why it starts getting tense.

Besides, Bush was down 11 points at this same point is 2004.

Great line, Juan, thanks for the words of comfort. Why, it almost has a tagline quality to it!!!

Good grief.

Just more evidence that McCain has never run as a Republican. Ever.

McCain ran as an independent in 2000 and got his A kicked by a guy who WAS a Republican. In Arizona, McCain ran as a war hero and has not had a Republican opponent in modern times.

McCain simply doesn’t know how to be a Republican. McCain has made himself famous by being the anti-Republican. Suddenly, McCain needs to get the ACTUAL Republican base out and he is clueless.

That is why the Democrats who voted in our primary in NH and FL pulled the lever for McCain. They knew that McCain was the worst GOP candidate so they picked him. Check the FL and NH exit polls and it shows that McCain never got a majority of Republican votes but maneuverd a win via ‘non-republican’ votes along with liberal Republicans who didn’t think Rudy could win.

So....democrats got to pick their own candidate AND they got to pick our candidate TOO! They SHOULD be thrilled considering that no matter which way the election goes democrats will have nominated the winner and gotten their candidate into the White House.

***Bush was an incumbent president in a reasonably good economy. If he had a $trillion loss on his hands, he’d have lost by the kind of margins the MSM was pushing.

If everyone gives up and doesn’t vote McCain, your fear is absolutely on the mark.

None, I stated in another thread that I believe it was a dem plant. That doesn’t change that McCain is staying in character and that this vanity is ridiculous and a lot of people are overreacting because McCain isn’t frothing at the mouth at Obama.

It was reported last week that in the Senate Obama came over to McCain and McCain gave him the cold shoulder and many said it was clear that he has contempt for Obama.

I didn’t see cheering vanities about it.
