(NASHVILLE, TENN.) - After most of the previous 12 months covering Barack Obama's campaign for the presidency, it was interesting, instructive and, well, relaxing to follow John McCain for the last few days. The differences between the two are striking.

If history is any guidance, those who carried water and facilitated totatlitarinists coming to power do not become even infamous; their names are just wiped out off people's memory. That's very true. I think the media is not going to get smart fast enough. The ones who really were useful idiots will be silenced or disappeared, but there will also be a core that will be just fine, thank you, and will thrive under the new regime of repression and fear. There always are.
