The best thing for me is realizing that I can’t really pin down a length of time that i’ve been sober. It’s been about 10 years for me.

I had the tobacco habit pretty bad since my teen years and quit in March of 1986. It took a full five years before I quit reaching for a pack in my shirt pocket...

I stopped drinking last year - not because I thought I was consuming too much alcohol, but because my soon-to-be-ex-wife drove me to sobriety.
Sounds like a joke, maybe, but true.
