Hi troll -- if you'd kept on the bailout bill, you'd find this power was already in there: allowing the govt. to reset not only the interest rate but the principal on mortgages retroactively, and at the govt.'s discretion.

Arbitrary Section 8 housing nationwide without zoning or permits, and goodbye to contract law.

Compared to that, what McCain said is actually tame.
