They put it in the tiniest theater in the megaplex where I saw it, with the result that it was sold out. In other words, they didn’t provide enough room for the people who wanted to see it, and this reduced the audience.
Too bad we can’t get Michael Moore/Malone to do an expose on movie theater chains and payola for the reported ticket sales of movies. All it would take would be the tickettaker to push the button for “Religulous” instead of American Carol, and figure you’ll never look at the ticket. It would be fun to have a fat, pushy Moore clone barging in with camera crew to West L.A. theaters, asking tough questions.
