Because it irritates me when people bitch about someone's post not being up to their high standard of including the entire event and the retrospective historical analysis on activities that are occurring while the post is being made.

I want to know that something is happening while it is happening, if I wanted old news, I'd subscribe to a newspaper.

One of FR's greatest values is that it is the first place news 'happens', or would you prefer to wait until it's on CNN before anyone is allowed to post a breaking story?
