You’re kidding, right? I know I’ll probably get flamed, but I think Biden cleaned her clock. There were a few problems, but mostly her answers were too pat, generic and rambling. Plus she said a few things (like the Constitutional role of the VP) that will probably come back to haunt her. As for Biden, sounded a lot more focused, authoritative and articulate. Yeah, he lied his ass off, but don’t expect the MSM to call him on it.

Did you notice that Biden was against the ropes most of the debate? Constantantly going back to try and defend Obama. I thought he was going to have to sit down because she was going too fast for him. Her confidence continued to build throughout the debate. He faded and he came across as unfunny.

GREAT JOB, SARAH!!!!!!
It appears that the debate was obviously slanted in favor of Biden. He answered without hesitation and Ifill (who we know is liberally-biased) seemed to take more kindly to Biden than Palin.

Sarah was great. Gwen did a good job, too. I felt sorry for Joe because I could see pain on his face when Sarah delivered well. He’s a sensitive guy, which actually made it easier on Sarah.

She did very well. I just wish McCain would have allowed her to blame the Dems for the financial mess (since they caused it), ut McCain won’t blame Dems for anything, only Repupublicans.
If McCain gets a bump in the polls from this, he better turn Sarah loose to be Sarah, if he wants to win this.

I know that she could not counter McCain on certain issues, but two things I would have LOVED to hear...
On Global Warming - There are certainly many scientists who would disagree that man is responsible for climate change. You know, the climate has been changing for thousands of years and there are other factors like water vapor, changes in the earth core and then there’s that great big yellow ball in the sky that probably has a thing or two to do with climate change. etc etc
On the Bailout - Man I wish John had voted against that nonsense.
We’ve got this Armeggedon Avoidance Act and Congress has added $150 MILLION in pork in this 451 page monstrosity. We are going to Washington to END this horrible waste of taxpayer money and root out the people in Congress and policies that caused this mess in the first place! etc etc
Otherwise, I thought her performance was awesome. And Biden, well, he has an interesting idea of truth and a faulty memory.
OMG - A commentator on PBS just said “as a neutral observer Biden won this debate.” Neutral? PBS? Yea, right.

WOW.
Frank Lutz the pollster, who puts a bunch of independents in a room with rotating dials, and monitors their reactions during debates and such.
Said Sarah absolutely, completely wowed the entire group.
It was amazing. When asked who thought she won — the entire room raised their hands.
Go Sarah Go!
Just wow. No wonder Alaskans love her.

She's demonstrated that she learns quickly. I missed out on the first few minutes, but what she said was less substantial than Biden's attacks, and Biden did a good job, considering what a total creep he is. It's good that Palin was likable and loyal to McCain, but she needed to show that she could eat Biden's lunch and go on the attack. She didn't do that. It's very possible that she's adhering to McCain's non-strategy of playing nice to Obama/Biden's crass, but it isn't working and had little hope of working. Palin should have been baiting Biden and calling him out on what he was saying. "Bipartisanship" and "maverick" uttered repeatedly didn't blunt Biden's attacks, which were constant even if many of them were baseless. Republicans need to get used to the concept that Democrats win by lying their heads off and betting that the opposition won't take them on.
I liked Palin's closing remarks a lot and wished she had gone a little further. Helping to jumpstart her political career as a national figure may be McCain's legacy. She'll be a vital player in the GOP farm team come January. But depending on any VP candidate to turn around your campaign is a lousy strategy.

Wow! Sarah was absolutely brilliant. I had tears in my eyes! She didn’t fold on the issues, was charming - yet forceful when she had to be. A left-wing commentator here said she “took the points”!
