Oh, I have no complaints or objections to open carry.
However, anyone who wishes to do evil in your vicinity will most likely target you first, as they can see you are armed.
Unless you are a uniformed LEO, advertizing the fact that you are armed is certainly no advantage.

That situation is just silly. I have to agree that it's more like an in-your-face to carry a visible gun. Besides which, in a confrontation you lose the element of surprise. There are lots of attractive ladies’ purses - large and small - with a buildt-in carry pouch - or holster, if you will.

Well who wants to wear one of those fanny pack holsters or a shoulder one on a hot day? When you see a man wearing a fanny pack, and he isn't wearing a pink sweatband and listening to Broadway Showtunes on his iPod, you can assume that he's carrying.
