I know this isn't serious news compared to what is going on out there right now but I had to share this. I actually saw this moose this morning. I was on my way to work and all out of sorts because FR was down so I didn't get my morning fix. I looked to the right of me and I saw this incredible animal with the biggest antlers I have ever seen. I stopped my car and just stared at him with my jaw down on the floor. He looked spooked out but not dangerous as he was contained in a fenced area.
I got into the office and called the police and told them there was a moose loose in Worcester. They told me they had several reports on it and the environmental police were on their way.
While I am all for hunting and have no problem with people killing animals for food, it bummed me out that they killed him. I can understand why but it still upset me some seeing how powerful and large he was. I live in an area where the only exotic things we see are the occasional deer and wild turkeys so this was a treat.
I did think of Sarah when I saw it too. HA!
Oh no.... they killed Bullwinkle.
Hide your sister.
Global warming. He was trying to get further south before cold weather set in.
Just interested in what general area of Worcester did you see the moose? We lived and worked there year’s ago.
Thanks for this story. After watching the video, I am angered [what’s new?] by the stupid reporter: “A hunter might kill it and be eating poisoned meat.”
First, moose hunting remains illegal in Massachusetts, as far as I know. It was probably in rut. Secondly, five shots to bring it down? Good heavens ... these shooters are an embarrassment.
