McCain comes on FOX News and Throws the Election Away (Vanity)

McCain comes on FOX News cable this morning, about 30 minutes ago, and throws the election away. All he had to do was say that he is with the American people, that the American people had concerns with this bill and he is with the American people and understands why.

All he had to do was say he is working for the American people and not politicians who create the problems and then want to be the same politicians who want to be in charge with fixing the problem.

That this bill didn’t have the real reform we needed, that he will now do everything he can to work for the American people to come up with a plan that has real reform.

No one is saying there should be no plan at all. And he should have said as much. That what we need now is a plan with real reform.

Yet, despite mistakes that he already has made, and said, he actually was handed the opportunity to side with the American people and to win the election, to let Palin have the opportunity to go with the message on Thursday that the McCain-Palin ticket is for reform, and that reform means that the failed plan wasn’t good enough and that this ticket will be on the side of the American people for a better way, a better plan, for real reform, and this ticket will work with the American people.

Instead he came out, he stated he supported the plan that failed – and that he still supports the plan that failed.

He made no mention of the need for a better plan. And worse, he made no mention of the feelings of the American people. He forgot to even mention the word. The FOX anchor had to remind him.

And when asked directly about the fact that the American people were not supporting the current plan, he went into the line about how he went to Washington to get everyone to pass the plan.

And then, when was asked directly the obvious follow up to the question - the fact that, yes, he went to Washington to get everyone to pass the plan that the American people did not want, and it failed (and thus he failed) - he responded that he did not get enough Republicans and Democrats to support this plan that failed.

And so he in as much told everyone he is a failure and that he is just another Bush.

McCain is now Bush.

Obama is now going to become the leader on this issue in the eyes of the American people. Obama is for the American people, and McCain is Bush.

Congratulations President Obama.

man, am i ever tired of (relative) newbies on FR calling the old guard, people who have been around here for nine, ten, eleven years, people who have donated and posted into the 10s of thousands of posts, as "trolls"

it really is disgusting, and has surpassed being even funny........

....."Newt is great, but he has more skeletons than a Aerobics Studio.".....

I keep hearing this, but apparently it doesn't matter if you wee raised a Muslim, worship Che Guevara, and sit under a preacher that curses America. I can't imagine a homo daughter and a bad divorce being a deal killer. Newt is the smartest guy on the block and we need a "Founder" type thinker right now.

Newt would have bitch slapped Obama by now and made him whimper to his corner.

McCain believes we can all "just get along" and fix the problem. Rush told Newt that the press won't like him, doesn't like him, and will never like him, so why kowtow to them? Newt in the later days tried to get the press to like him and they destroyed him. I think he learned his lesson. The Republicans should have impeached Clinton and then convicted him, but they all "just wanted to get along". See what it got them?

Newt is the guy. I don't see the skeletons.

I was just wondering the same thing myself...

We know McQueeg is a complete stain. His propping up his candidacy with Palin was a great move. It brought people like me back on board. I thought it signaled a sea-change for Juan McCainindez...

I should have known better...

Just take care not to worry when they call you an "extremist" and a "purist" for espousing conservative principles and refusing to swallow their "pragmatism."

Patience... After you are here long enough, you'll earn the title of a 1%er too...

This has to be tied to Shamnesty. If Bush and McCain are in lock step, it’s the Shamnesty Stupid. I’d like to see how many illegals have defaulted. I’d wager it’s high enough to kill Shamnesty forever.

I dunno....but it seems like Brian_Baldwin is like a terrorist bomb thrower.

Log on....throws a bomb, and beats a hot foot, never answering much, IF anything.

Is THAT what FR is about?

I'm tempted to cast my ballot tonight, but I may wait until the VP debates because I want to see if it's worth voting for Palin.

Osama bin Biden is a major-league Socialist jackass, but then again, Juan McQueeg is not much better.

Go here:

Open borders and the mortgage mess

Here: HNMA

and Here:The Next Financial Crisis — Alt-A Mortgages

Connect the dots. This will make ACORN look like a small affair when it finally gets the scrutiny it deserves. Now the same people who encouraged mortgage companies to use these types of loan instruments to target illegals (that have since defaulted), are the same ones screaming for a bailout of the finance banks that bought these bundled as Mortgage Backed Securities in the Billions of dollars. A large share of these ALT-A loans were secured by illegals with only matricula consular cards and a handshake. They are long gone now and have left the mortgage loan banks holding the bag. Now the Feds want to transfer the bag to US in the form of a bailout!

I decided to wait a while just to make the point that there was zero fallout from the McCain interview that morning. This is what I expected.

Just because I’m new doesn’t mean I’m a troll.
