McCain has about 48 hours to fix his campaign. This is his last chance, and he has to do this now.
Everyone knows what he needs to do he needs to come out and say that he is against the plan as it was proposed, that the American people were against it and for good reason, that he is with the American people on this one.
He needs to say there is a better plan, and that this wasnt the bill and he is glad that the plan as proposed went down because it lacks accountability, it lacks the reform needed.
And that he is ready to move forward with real solutions which Americans will support, and this wasnt it. And now he is ready to again go to Washington with the message that the American people desire, and he is ready to assist with real reform.
He needs to say this, and he has only about 48 hours to do so.
Once he says this, then that will free up Palin to go on the attack during the Thursday debate. She can then argue on behalf, and with, the American people, that this isnt what the American people wanted, that this wasnt the answer, and now it is time to seek real reform and that is what McCain-Palin are about, real reform for the American people.
The message is simple, and it will win the election for McCain. And not only is the message simple, but it is the correct message, the real message Americans want.
He has 48 hours to do this. This is literally his last chance because the old media will lie about what has just happened, and if he doesnt get this message out, if he is not on board with this, well the media certainly will do him no favors, and he will not only become caught up in a web of old media deceit, he will have lost his entire message of reform.
Now he needs to show the American people, that his ticket is the ticket of reform, and that the Republican Party is the Party of Reform.
I support John McCain, because I now understand how important reform is.
John McCain and Sarah Palin are the reform candidates. Reform is real change. America will understand that. This is his opportunity. And his last chance. The election is now his to win or lose
..but it’s still socialism..(and therefore won’t end up saving anything, even our already socialized economic system)..
I agree with you. McCain offers a leadership. He needs to show one soon, not waiting to see where the wind goes. I’m fully aware he often did that in the past, so I hope he will show it again in the very near future, like < 48 hrs.
That is doubtful. This does not make for good sound bites except from the Dems and msm talking about the 12 republicans who did not vote for the sham. Never mind that 94 members of Pelosi’s own party did not vote for it.
The general public will not take 30 minutes to learn what this is all about. The 30 second sound bites are all they need to feel fully informed. This will truly be their (the citizens) own fault.
The citizens though will fall back to their comfort zones, mouthing the words of their dem masters and blaming Bush and the Republicans. Doing that will do nothing and make them feel back in control in some pathetic way.
Where are we going? Who among them wants to come along as REAL Americans pick up from the mess, and get back to living?
Normally Americans face adversity and forge ahead. I think too many on the other side are drinking too much of their own Kool Aid and are really believing their own poison.
McCain has a chance to step ahead as the strong leader of a strong party that faced the problem and made things work. If he does not show any difference than the Dems and obama he will offer no good alternative to them.
The current momentum will care along and that is not showing it is our momentum. The Republicans will not build on the success they are having moving the ball despite being in the minority in congress.
The very fact that 94 dems voted against the bill shows they have concern for the country! Their vote shows they are open for another direction and the republicans should invite them to form and alliance. One for REAL CHANGE and success and do the things most of us know needs to be done.
That is not passing a diamond parachute bill that rewards the wall street companies that made this mess so bad to start.
I don’t want “bi-partisan.” I don’t want “change the tone.”
I want Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness! I want a strong Capitalistic society, where people are encouraged to donate the charity and spiritual institutions ON THEIR OWN as they see fit! I want a solid Free Market! I want justice and the removal of power of those who try to rob and fool the American people. I want a strong America based off of these things!
That’s what I want.
He’s run some ads but obviously not enough is being done to put it out there.
and if he does that, he can connect.
i would demand that the raines, and the others pay back their fraudulent, ill-gotten gains. (i think that this is what the taxpayers and those who have abided by the rules and have been responsible want.)
The only message McCain has ever known is McCain. That’s why Palin keeps talking McCain this, McCain that.
AP running a story Rezko is telling all to Feds.
The Reps are suggesting loose lending brought to us via Clinton, Frank, and others= Wall Street Mess. Since the media hands out hammers, there hasn't been much pounding of this point.
I can dig the 'reform' approach 'cause Sarah is waiting on-deck to launch a few into the bleacher seats.
Say, here's one:
"Government had no business inteferring with the loan markets then, and has no business now." "We all share a part of the burden in correcting this mal-application of government power."
and..
"Is anyone other than me not surprised that meddling by government in a private enterprise of such titanic importance to the smooth operation of our markets has driven it into an iceberg?"
and...
"There are a lot of little enterprises traveling on the seas of finicial risk every day. The last thing they need is meddling and regulation by government that distracts them from their missions and threatens their very existence by imposing upon them risks not otherwise considered sound business practices." "don't believe me, try it with a crab fisherman."
finally...
"Our mission upon arrival to Washington, D.C. will be to reform the way government does business with business and everything else." "We will leave no stone un-turned where the heavy hand of government has been placed." "And, we will expose that which lies underneath to the bright lights of accountability, efficiency, and ethics."
"Some might say such a task is nearly impossible but remember: 'the journey of a thousand camels begins with getting all the fleas out of their armpits'- or something like that."
He works for FoxNews. I'm sure they have the film in stock, or it is most likely still available at CSpan.
Further, Senate Hearings were held in 2004, chaired by Maxine Walters (I believe?) in which Republicans sternly warned there were problems with Fannie Mae. (Those were the soundbites played on Sean's show.) The response? Maxine Walters glossed over it and claimed it was (paraphrase) "doing its job of getting people into houses" and I think the soundbite was the voice of Chuck Schumer claiming that the Republican complaint amounted to a "public lynching of Frank Raines." Needless to say, the Democrats BLOCKED reform of Fannie Mae in 2004.
In 2005, Sen. McCain co-authored a bill to reform Fannie Mae and this also was blocked by Democrats, with Barney Frank leading the charge.
I'm not sure what the dozen or more things Rush was referring to about Pres. Bush trying to get something done, but I trust him that he has the data.
THIS NEEDS TO GET OUT THERE... and there is still 5 weeks left.. plenty of time for this to hit the public. Its going to have to be pushed by RNC and the McCain campaign in advertisements all over the country. If this was a Republican debacle, every liberal rag and the liberal media would be hounding it every minute of every day. So its true that this will require a serious effort, but it can be done.
We all need to call RNC and McCain campaign and demand they run this info into the ground with advertisements. The American people deserve to know that this program was created by the Carter Administration and altered twice by Democrats with huge penalties to lenders who did not offer sub-prime loans and that Democrats have blocked all of these efforts to rein it in before it blew up.
We all need to call/write Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity to ask them to keep up the attack and keep playing those Senate Hearing soundbites until the word is out there.
Also: We need to ask Matt Drudge to post this information. Maybe he will see fit to help get the word out.
You know what I mean. He always acts like he is some Fletch supersleuth reporter and has the scoop and it’s something that most can get if looked hard enough.
It was just teasing on Hannity.
Oh yeah, and it’s always going to “bring the Democrats down” and I think “the only people that this would matter to are people who would never vote Democrat in the first place”.
I guess poor ole Hannity just bugs me, but that’s just me. He seems like a real nice guy though.
You are so special!!!!
You actually think Brian_Baldwin is the founder of FR?

We shall see...!!!
FRegards-
I don't think Sean has said it that way. That is my opinion that this has the makings of a huge scandal that will knock DNC out this year. Word is slow getting out to the general public, but Rush and Sean are certainly nailing it everyday now.
I think the independents need to hear it and it isn't going to hurt for the conservative base to hear it because they are being told lies by the Obama-media that its all the Republicans fault. This must be corrected or it could hurt us. Not only that, but it SHOULD hurt the DNC in a big way. I predict that it will. It is too bad though, that the FBI investigation of Fannie Mae will never complete in time for the election.
Brian who? Oh, looks like he was talking about the quoted content of reply number 2. That’s a copy of a post I made yesterday.
