When are we going to be allowed to blame Rush for Obama?
Sept. 28, 2008 | Hildy

Posted on 09/28/2008 8:13:14 PM PDT by Hildy

Up until today I was sure that McCain would win..and I've always thought he'd win by alot. I didn't take into account just how unfair the press was going to be. It's a never ending drumbeat, like the article that was posted last week. It's unrelenting..and it's always negative towards McCain and positive towards the "ONE." But it looks like it's working and we might have a President BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA. I'm glad my Father is not alive to see this.

We need big prayers, people..I don't know what it's going to take. I can't believe people think the Dems will be better for the economy.

We allowed the press do beat up Bush so badly that he's just a shell of a President. Some of it was deserved, but the level of it was not. And we just let it happen.

For the first time in years, I am depressed about the future.

For the sake of the country, I believe Hillary would have been a better President. Like Rush, I thought Obama was unelectable. I'm just numb right now to think that my beloved country is SO DAMN STUPID.

didn't Operation Chaos encourage Republicans to vote for Hillary? how is it Rush's fault that Obama is the nominee? do i have it backwards?

And, finally, the most liberal voting record in the US Senate. Even while he has voted present on some of the more controversial bills.

His attendance hasn't been perfect. He was elected Senator from the State of Illinois in 2004 and took his back bench seat in January, 2005. His attendance record was 143 or so days.

Let's do the math....or arithmetic in Obama's case.

The Senate convenes on January 4th. That leaves 361 days in the year. Then there are holidays, 7 or 8 of 'em, leaving 352 days in the year. Then there are Senate recesses and vacations......roughly 120 days depending on the business at hand, leaving 230 days. Then there's the fact finding mission, the trip to Iraq, Israel and Europe....not to mention the Presidential campaign which has consumed all of his time for the past two years which is 460 days of Senate business. But in fairness, Obama has been back in his back bench seat to vote a couple of times during his campaign.

So..through 230 days for three years and 200 days this year. we arrive at the general figure of 890 days in office. Now subtract 143 from 890 and we arrive at the 747 days of absenteeism. But what the hell.....let's give him the benefit of the few days he did return, say 13....that makes it only 764 days.

This is a record!

MHT...nice to see you and Hildy on these threads....there have been so many "newbies" that I thought we old timers had been run off....

the qualities you mention....think of what a great vice president and perhaps president Sarah Palin will make....even tempered, not getting outwardly angry, being the good soldier....

McCain is going to win....so everybody, we can cry our tears but I just think he is going to pull it off.....

I meet a lot of decent folks who are emigres from the Corn Fee/Ethanol Peoples Republic of Iowa. The fact that Iowa wants Obama more than their freedom makes wonder if we can trade Iowa to Putin for some oil or something.

Maybe you should all be out there being constructive... phone banks, poll watchers, door-to-door, mailings, etc...

NO...PLEASE LET’S NOT REWRITE HISTORY.

You've completely misunderstood the point of Operation Chaos. You've gotten it completely backwards. And--I'm sure you're not a troll, but when you say that you wouldn't have gotten this much attention if you hadn't put Limbaugh's name in your title--I hope you realize that that's exactly the reasoning that trolls use.

I think Obama's looking for a free place to stay with benefits and housekeeping for a few years. Michelle has complained about the heating and electric bills.

As we all do.

I understand your sentiments exactly. I guess you could say we are seeing the chickens come home to roost.

I, too, am worried. Not just about this election, but about the survival of our country. Obviously, the Constitution means nothing, our heritage and culture means nothing and our society is being destroyed.

This monstrous bailout is nothing more than years of Democrats running every tax and spend program they could siphon money from and stuffing it into their personal coffers. Fannie and Freddy Mac was a huge depository of criminal activities that made Chris Dodd, Barry Obama, Maxine Waters and the current gang running the Congress a lot of money.

If people want to be mad at Wall Street, look at the current companies that have/are supporting Obama and his fellow liberals in Congress. We don’t expect so called respectable large corporations to be as radical as those leftists in the house and senate....but they are. And most importantly they control our lives, through our media, our banks, education systems and in every other aspect of our existence.

Education and knowledge is your friend....empower that in your life and have good courage.

“Go ahead , talk to ANY school kid and they spit back how wonderful Obama is , how we’re killing the earth , how much America sucks.”

Then talk to my 4 kids and most of their friends. They’re not as stupid as anyone thinks. Talk to my two teens, 16 and almost 18, junior and senior in high school. Listen to their comments, discussions about what’s being discussed in their high school history classes or any of their classes. I think you’d be surprised and it’s all because of the parenting, home life, imo. Talk to most of the students I have when I substitute teach. We have many smart, informed teens out there. We also have tons who have no clue or just listen to sound bites or John Stewart or SNL. Or those supporting Obama because he’s “black” and suffer from their parents’ white guilt. Not much different than the 60s and 70s imo.

“And we wonder WHY Obama is going to win ?( Oh yes ,he will)” I’m not convinced he’ll win.

I don’t think we on FR represent the majority of Americans. I do think enough Americans are smart enough not to vote for Obama. It will be close but he won’t win.

Did you totally miss all those FReepers a couple of months ago who were weeping and gnashing their teeth because Rush and his Operation Chaos (supposedly) prevented the final departure of the Clintons from the political scene?

They accused Rush of having some sort of secret deal with the Clintons.

There were a few of us who saw the danger that Obama posed to this country, and realized that Obama was not going to be the pushover that the Rush-bashers were so sure he would be.

For the first time in years, I am depressed about the future.

I'm with you, Hildy. I guess that's why I was ranting and raving all over FR earlier this evening about the Gang of Four 'RATs (Pelosi, Reid, Dodd and Frank) basically taking credit for "saving the US economy" and blaming McCain for stalling the process by showing up in DC on Thursday. And the media bought it lock, stock and barrel, and presented it to the sheeple. Only Fox News presented a truly "fair and balanced" account of what actually went on.

Oh, by the way... I watched a few minutes' of my local 11pm news tonight (I'm in Connecticut). The lead story was the bailout. Chris Dodd (who should be in an orange jumpsuit over his shenanagins at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) came off looking like the Savior of the American Economy.

The DC-based CBS reporter stated emphatically: "Many blame the Bush administration, because he failed to regulate the industry."

Unbelievable... I'm ready to throw in the towel.

“Obama is going to get crushed, there is a mountain of ammo to use against Barack Hussein Obama. There will never be a President Barack Hussein Obama.”

You’re a-whistlin’ past the graveyard, Bob.

I predict this will be one of the closest elections in history, right up there with 2000. I don’t think McCain can win the popular vote - if he wins, it will be through the electoral college, as did G.W. Bush in 2000. And this time, we may see not just one, but two or three state outcomes challenged by the ‘rats.

So long as neither candidate could claim a majority in the polls, I saw the race as close or at least still contested. But when you see either candidate start “breaking 50” (percent, that is) in the polls (state or national), it’s getting close to over.

Obama seems to be getting uncomfortably close to that threshhold. Uncomfortable for _us_, that is.

This doesn’t mean a turnaround could yet be possible. Some thoughts:
- A significant win by Palin vs. Biden could inject new fire into the race, at least among conservatives. But, if Palin stumbles, that may be the beginning of the end.
- There are still two debates left for McCain vs. Obama. Obama just needs to hold his own against McCain to keep his momentum. McCain, on the other hand, needs a knockout to put himself back into serious contention.
- And of course, there could be the “October Surprise” - coming to a televsion set near you (I don’t own a television).

I hope my pessimism is proven wrong. But if there is a “mountain of ammo” to use against Obama, why ain’t they a-usin’ it?

- John

That slander has been going on far longer than 30 years. We’re tired of it and if McCain Ads give some time to the whole Rev. Wright fiasco, many more will get ticked off. I know quite a few people, educated/intelligent/active people that had absolutely no clue...and if I hadn’t been reading FR, I probably wouldn’t know as much about that or been able to give links concerning it all. Sure, I knew about it, I grew up with it, studied it in college and grad school to an extent. But nothing compared to what I learned in Jeff Head’s postings. Nothing I could easily link and pass on. With his postings, now I can easily link it all to get it out there.

For example, neighbors across the street, from a worse section of Philly than I’m from, moved here a few years ago. Never bothered to register to vote here. They’re conservative republicans for the most part. The wife’s dad has been furious and vocal about them registering to vote here. They finally did and will NOT be voting for Obama. They’re pro union and they’re not voting democrat.

Talked to a Marine, retired, just back from Afghanistan a while ago, at our kids soccer game today. He’s also a neighbor, across the street. He’s still registered in FL and was trying to decide whether to swtich and vote here, in NJ, or just vote in FL since it’s a swing state. He’s incredibly informed but still didn’t know about who really caused the financial crisis, housing bubble, fannie mae, etc. or about Black Liberation Theology. Gave him links to here, also.

I think we’re all working for the same thing and once all the info gets out there, we’ll see a change. It will be close on Nov 4th but a definite win for McCain (that comes with its own problems and issues, lol, but far better than an Obama win).
