The Hobbit Hole XXXVII - ...Down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed!
Posted on 09/25/2008 6:43:34 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Honestly I think Elements will do plenty. Depends on what you want it for I guess

Never mind I see it. er, yeah Elements can do better. The ‘age’ is your solid background and the font.

Yeah, like I said, it was after midnight when I did it. I can get a little more creative with it tonight.
Of course I checked and there were already 128 other “Joe the Plumber” designs on CafePress.

Don't ditch the elements entirely. It's hardly obsolete. Instead, invest in an awesome font or two. Study trendy designs, colors, target the audience, etc. There's all sorts of design and color trend 'forecasting' websites, blogs, etc out there.
Ok - *constructive* criticism: I don't see 'old software', but I do see an 'old blue', and 'old yellow' and a very dated font. All easily edited. These are subtle things to which some people respond quite strongly, and not at a level that they necessarily understand or can articulate. It's how youts these days are programmed.
And I mean programmed.

My mother was a third grade teacher through most of her 30-year career. Can you tell?
This is an example of a shopping list of hers, dashed off in pencil and in a hurry:
I can tell she wrote it in a hurry because the capital B in "Bath" has a closed loop, and the U and R in "Insure" are not perfectly distinct.

This is going to be an unpleasant evening in this freeper household.

Another homerun. Is the Babe Ruth curse back or is the goat opening up a franchise.

I dunno. I might go lock myself in the guest room until this is overwith. Maybe work on some plot holes in the nano.
