Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I’ve always thought someone ought to just follow along beside me taking notes because the story of my life would make a great book. It would truly have a little bit of everything, including when the coffee pot murdered my husband.
I literally called him up and asked if he was all right. Once he caught on to what I was talking about, he said the coffee pot had stuffed him in a closet and could I please come get him out.
And here all along we’ve been blaming the toaster....
I saw a program last night that showed how toasters work...
I bet it was a program on PBS! The *always* have such progressive and intellectual programming!
Toasters are very cleverly designed.
evil toaster post
ROTFL!
Hello all! Just checking in here... I know I've been away a lot, but the new forum is busy busy! I guess that's good.
Nice fall day here, but it's been freezing at night and it's time to go cut back all the dead flowers. :~(
Hello!
It finally got into the fifties here...hoodie time for the boys.
I think in addition to it being the Fall season, it’s the Free Republic “Open Letter” season. Every couple of years it happens...a bunch of posts that start with “An Open Letter to...” I saw one earlier that said “An Open Letter from A Christian.” Now there’s an “Open Letter to Nation’s Sportsmen”
It feels like Friday to me ... they were gonna dump me today (Wednesday), but decided to do it Monday so the HR person could go out of town in peace.
THIS time, I will NOT be sidetracked from NaNo! I'm tanned (and gorgeously so!), rested, and ready for 50K words!
In the (slightly modified) words of Leroy Parnell:
I used to live my life for Friday night
And dread that ol' blue Monday,
But now every night's a Saturday night
And every day a Sunday!
I'll be around here some ... this is one of the few sane places where I can hang out and talk about something other than the election and its aftermath.
I’m here with ya.
I kinda like to hear how the debates are going, but don’t like to actually watch them, so I thought I’d hang out in FR since Steve is at church with da-boyz. I watched the entire VP debates with the volume turned down because I was trying to figure out how Sarah Palin did her hair.
Ah man, hope you’re doing ok there. Going to freelance again?
Looking forward to NaNo here.
Today I sat in a conference (up in the back of the auditorium...) and hand wrote four and a half pages of character sketches.
Eek!
I still haven’t decided on a plot. I have a couple that I could use but don’t really have any ideas for. I’m about down to flip a coin time.
I did write 1200 words in one sitting before work this morning, but it’s different when it’s a story that already has momentum. Still...maybe I can do this.
Man, I do love that Alphasmart thingie. It is da bomb.
Flushing, plungers, et cetera ...
I’m not sure what this says about me...but this tickles me:

Sweet Georgia Brown with tractor as metronome / drummer. Groovin’. Love it.
Hmmmm...
Someone on the blog last night made a snarky comment that the button looked like it was done on “20 year old software.”
Granted, it’s a little rough, but it was also 1:00 a.m. I plan to redo it tonight.
That said, what I’m working with is Photoshop Elements that I’ve had for a couple of years.
Question: What’s my best option for an upgrade to better graphics software?
Can I vote for Sarah and Joe the Plumber?
