The Hobbit Hole XXXVII - ...Down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed!

Posted on 09/25/2008 6:43:34 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Good the Missus made it home tonight!
We now have the truck and trailer out of their respective shops, and SirKit is doing the final packing. I'm fixing to make sandwiches so we can have a picnic on the road tomorrow. We plan to leave in an hour or so. Please keep us in your prayers for a safe trip. Looks like we're gonna have rain all the way to Tennessee!

I just noticed that the time stamp on your post changes from Pacific to Central after a few seconds. I’ll say.

Anyway...I’ve been up for an hour and a half...since 3:30am. I’m going back to bed in a few minutes but I couldn’t sleep and since I’ve got to work the graveyard shift tomorrow, I figured I’d get up and get a bit adjusted to staying up.

I'm now working from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am from Sunday night to Friday morning. I'm trying not to let it affect my weekends.

This morning I was up at 4 with a headache (gone now, thanks). I think I'll stay up...I'm putting MrsEx on the train home later this morning (death in the family, she'll stay for a week) and don't want to accidentally sleep through departure time.

What a shame. I love him most for his line of organic foods. He has the most awesome cookies! They’re all I serve at holidays and family gatherings because they’re not made out of hydrogenated crap and I’m still on strike. My all time favorite are the “Hermits” cookies. These are a plain, cinnamon + molasses cookie that are off the charts - unlike any other cookie on the market. I cannot recommend them highly enough. loveloveLOVELOVE them! We also like the Fig Newmans. Mostly for the play on wurdz.

Just heard. Dang.

We’ll have to watch The Long Hot Summer this weekend in his memory.

I love his salad dressings, particularly the olive oil and vinegar. Mmmmmm! The pasta sauces are good, too.

Oh - I finished my scarf:

It needs to be blocked, but I got excited and took pics already. I'm also wearing it. It's a great little pattern!

To me, that whole enterprise is just a smart way to do 'organic' and 'progressive'. The stuff tastes darn good, it supports the farmers and suppliers, and profits go to generally good causes. Good product, good work. Oh that all the dogooders trying to extort $$ for nothing for whatever cause would follow his example.

Oh and the salsa line is excellent, too.

Hrm... it didn’t give me an option for expecting to be a detainee in whatever re-education camps his civilian security force establishes.

What have you been up to? Awfully quiet over there.

Wanna drop by and look at the new storm trailer today? We’re about to go out and start working on it.

Why McCain didn't look at Obama. It's dangerous to stare a Parselmouth in the eyes.
