What If McCain Sends Palin to Debate Obama on Friday?
self

Posted on 09/24/2008 3:58:43 PM PDT by paul in cape

Just a thought. Sen. McCain can stay in Washington to work on a bipartisan bill to deal with Fannie-Gate, and sends Sarah to debate Barry. Since the only knock against Gov. Palin is her inexperience, and she'd be only "a heartbeat away from the presidency," sending the Governor in to debate the messiah would be rich, and the most watched TV show since the Super Bowl. I believe Gov. Palin has the stones to pull it off, but what would Barry do?

I welcome your comments as to whether this would be a good idea: Palin vs. Obama!

That would be priceless but isn’t it against the rules?

I would prefer to see the empty suit try to debate the empty chair because the empty chair would win!

the last time I checked Obama is free to debate or not, and I am quite sure that we can send Palin and she will make us proud but Obama is never going to agree to that.

McCain is going back to Washington because he was trained as a warrior and he goes were the action is. Obama is full of self.

The distinguished Senator from Illinois would scream like the little girl Sarah isn't, hike up his skirt and prance back behind his teleprompter faster than a bullet from Governor Palin’s moose gun.

I sugg’d that hours ago. It (A) is a great idea, and (B) will never happen.

He would “um” and “ah” and stutter until his teleprompter was updated, and then read a statement from it condemning McCain’s decision as racist and declaring that Sarah should be home with the kids instead of debating him.

Actually, a Vice President is often sent on minor missions when the President is busy, such as attending a funeral for a foreign head of state.

So, why not? If Obama says “No,” how will that make him look? If he says “Yes,” And then stands there looking snooty at her, Sarah will wipe the floor with him.

Ain’t gonna happen—it’s just too good to be true. But we can always hope.

It’s on foreign policy...not Palin’s strong suit.

You can bet that McCain has an end game to this strategy. You KNOW he’s not going to let Obama debate an empty stage. I’m betting that it’s been in the works the entire time to send Gov. Palin to debate Obama because Senator McCain is too busy working to fool with partisan politics.

“Gov. Palin is going to be my vice-president. I trusted her skills and judgment enough to become leader of the free world should something happen to me. I have full confidence that she can handle a debate with the junior Senator from Illinois.”

The first debate was to have been about economics but the Obama camp had it changed to foreign affairs. What is the point of stopping everything for that at the moment? At the very least, the first debate should be about the issue of the day.

I think this would be an INCREDIBLY STUPID STUNT and be seen as such by a majority.
