I've been asked to start you this week...those who normally do this..... can't...so you got me. I haven't even looked at the news ...but my coffee is very good this morning....so get a cup and lets get this show rolling.
FnF is reporting that two grenades have been found at the baggage area of the Jet Blue terminal at JFK. The terminal has been completely evacuated.
Bear in mind, that it was the drama queen Geraldo doing the reporting and although he talked with two Jet Blue captains, they “had been told” it was grenades and the captains had not actually seen them.
Yawn.
Good morning. Ice cream is good medicine. It will help you heal. Cream, eggs and a bit of sugar. Excellent!
Paper weights. The “grenades” were reproductions from WWII and were PAPER WEIGHTS. Why does this not surprise me?
This is rediculous [sic]. It is so important for security NOT to call “wolf.” Too many false alarms will dull all the alarms.
What time to we expect to hear from Lysie or a post from Greg or Sarah?
I see the obamanation is 1% point ahead of us. I need to find a place where I can check PA, OH, FL, CO, NM etc in one viewing site. If we can just carry PA, OH and FL, we should be able to hold off disaster.
I have friends who say “not to worry” because when the voter is in the booth alone, he/she will not be able to pull the lever for obamanation. I pray that is true.
I don’t know when lysie will be coming back online. I would think that maybe Greg will make a report tonight (he is a FR, too). Lysie has her laptop with her and it wouldn’t surprise me if she is online tomorrow.
While I don’t say “not to worry”, I do say, “DON’T WATCH THE POLLS CLOSELY.” Even if we were ahead by 10 points we need to work as if we’re behind. Nobama dropped out of the lead within 10 days (beginning of the RAT convention he was ahead and 10 days later he was behind). If the polls can change that much once, it can happen again.
Stay the course.
Keep your eye on the goal.
Don’t be swayed by temporary adversity.
Work as if we’re behind.
Good morning everybody, finally checking back in since the close of the music festival.
A very good time was had despite the big black cloud that gathered during the Saturday afternoon concert and sent folks striding toward their campers to pull back awnings and take cover. Luckily, the storm only lasted a while and the evening cleared off and the shows were able to finish. All in all, a grand time.
We have started heading back south for the return to our winter base. Feels GREAT to be wearing shorts and t-shirts again.
Apologies to those who pinged me during the past few days, I was just having too much fun to freep. The vacation from the news has been a blessing too.
Thanks for the thread Dog. Let’s roll!
I’m glad you had a good time. How long a trip is it?
My thoughts exactly.
How are you doing this morning?
I’m holding my own.
I don’t have it. Thank you for getting us together today, Dog.
Good Morning Everyone.
Thanks for the ping.
Good boy, Dog!
Morning all - woof!
OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC PREDICTS GLOBAL COOLING, NOT GLOBAL WARMING!
DUBLIN, N.H. The Old Farmer's Almanac is going further out on a limb than usual this year, not only forecasting a cooler winter, but looking ahead decades to suggest we are in for global cooling, not warming.
It will be cooler this winter than average. The spiders are coming indoors already. Usually they don’t do this for another month.
Ya know...I’ve noticed spiders inside a lot lately.
Bundle up!
YEP.....I have been vacuuming up spiders around my entry way and the riverside deck for a month now. Normally, they don’t even begin to appear until late Sept or eary Oct.
Not sure of actual mileage but from where we are, about 14 hours driving time. We’ll scatter it out over the week, plan to stop in and see daughter.
WELCOME! a Very Big one too...
UGH! I REFUSE to discuss football.... starting to think none of Ms teams showed up.
Our outdoor kitty looks like a polar bear, her fur has gotten so thick. Definitely going to be a colder winter.
